Brie and Dave are incredibly kind and generous! They welcomed us into their home and it was immediately apparent that we’d continue to be friends beyond our time house sitting for them. We enjoyed caring for their three pets! Mable, their wonderful sweet Boxer mix dog is very lovable and a cuddle bug on the couch. She’s a bit anxious at times (especially with thunderstorms) but she immediately warmed up to us and hardly left our side. We had to be a bit careful not to unknowingly stumble over her, especially while in the kitchen. We enjoyed walking the quiet neighborhood of Hyattsville with her.Mable can be dog aggressive but does fine with a firm hand and avoiding other dogs. The neighborhood is full of older homes and large trees, making for lovely walks with her! Marty and Little Miss are independent and very sweet cats. Little Miss is shy and enjoyed the screened in porch most of the time we were there. We always loved it when she came in for a ‘hello’ and spent some time with us. Treat time was exciting, as she’d chase and pounce on treats that we tossed! Marty was more social and loved a good face rub. He warmed up to us quickly and spent time on the couch with us each evening. Brie and Dave’s home is older but with a lot of charm and character! It has a lovely redone kitchen and island that we spent much of our time at, working and cooking meals. The speed of the Wi-Fi connection varied throughout the house, with 40+mbs speeds around the stairwell and with 10-15mbs or less in the dining area. There isn’t a TV, but we were able to stream Netflix, etc. just fine in the living room area on the comfy couch! The neighborhood is quiet and set apart from the hustle of nearby D.C., but within easy walking distance are shops, grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. All within 1.5 miles or less, we had a Giant, Whole Foods, Safeway, Yes Organics, and Aldi. In addition, at about a mile away is The Mall at Prince Georges and Prince Georges Plaza Metro Station (which can you directly into D.C.). You can also catch a couple of buses within two to three blocks of their home. We can’t express enough how lovely, kind, friendly and welcoming Brie and Dave are! We’re glad we were able to meet them, their daughter, Mabel, Marty and Little Miss. What a wonderful family, thank you for having us and allowing us to hose sit for you. We’re very happy and fortunate to consider you our friends!
I had a lovely time at Regina and Franz’s. Pepe is a very affectionate cat, he’ll happily sleep on the end of the bed if you let him, but he’s also ok with sleeping alone. Conchita took a day or two to warm up to me but then she would come say hello every day! Feeding is free feeding dry food, and wet food when they ask for it, which makes for a wonderfully relaxing feeding schedule for the sitter. No alarms to set or times to keep! The sheep were fantastic fun! They were to be counted morning and evening and fed once a day. Some of the lambs had been bottle fed so were very affectionate and came to see me for head scratches when I’d walk the fields, and just follow me around in general. So endearing! Caring for the animals is very manageable alone, except if any sheep gets hurt and needs caring for. This sit would be perfect for a couple, in that sense. Regina and Franz had allowed me to have a friend over and we managed to herd the limping lamb into the pen together to spray his hurt foot with the medicine, alone this had not been possible. However, there is also Paul, who is a retired farmer in the area, he called in on the first day and said I could call any time if needed. The beautiful garden is a peaceful haven of tranquility. I spent lots of time out on the bench on the front patio, for breakfast, reading etc… the house was very cosy, warm with the heating on when needed and cool when the weather got too warm outside. Very, very well equipped kitchen. All the lovely comforts for a perfect holiday! Overall a really lovely stay! Thank you so much Regina and Franz for your kindness and trust!
I had a wonderful experience at this housesit. Trina and Diaon we’re very welcoming and communicative. They were in the midst of moving in but made their home ready for me with a well stocked bathroom and beautifully decorated bedrooms to choose from. I slept in the room with a comfy mattress. They had set the AC at a very generous temperature which I didn’t need because the house stays very cool and ventilated. That’s important on hot sweaty days in Florida. Baca and Rayne were easy to care for. Baca has a purr engine that won’t stop. She loves attention. Rayne had me worried a time or two wondering outside, but she showed up and got use to me with a soft voice. She can be a little scared and shy. I would recommend this housesit if you are visiting Pensacola. My son and his wife and my grandson live there so it was a great exchange while I was able to visit. I recommend visiting the Seville Quarters during your stay and say hi to the pretty bar tender at The End of the Alley. Lol Thank you for being a wonderful host and the secure feeling I had during my stay. Best to all! Diana
I was warmly welcomed by Karin and Dave. They cooked something delicious in the evening . I was very happy about that. We had a nice chat. They gave me good tips where to go. Phoebe was very shy and reserved in the beginning, but she quickly had confidence in me and we were able to cuddle a lot. She is a very sweet dog. We took very nice walks. Phoebe knows her way around and knows many beautiful places. The appartment was very clean and very well located . Edinburgh city centre, the beach, Hollyrood park its not far away. The supermarket and the bus stop are very close.. I had a very nice room. It was very nice that you took me to the train station . I miss Phoebe a lot now. I hope i can take care of her again soon. I can recommend the sit to everyone.
What a gem of a sit! We had a wonderful time with Zak in Om's. Where should we begin!? Roger and Lynn are wonderful people, really welcoming. They made us feel like home (Oms :D) immediately! The home is a cosy island in a sea of mountains and trees. It was a true delight to enjoy the sunshine in their cute garden, with views over the Albere and bird songs. We quickly fell in love with Zak, he is a fluffy buddy who likes his autonomy in the wild surroundings as much as scratches and cuddles (he also loves being brushed ☺️) We discovered the region and loved it as well, we had an amazing week. If you have the chance to sit for Roger and Lynn, don't think twice, go for it! Highly recommended. Thanks again for trusting us! ❤️
Rebecca and family were wonderful hosts and invited me into their home with a warm welcome. Their home is extraordinaryly beautiful and in a gorgeous area. The pictures do not do it justice. The art in their home is unique and stunning. If you enjoy art you will love this home. The guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom is quiet and private with a very comfortable bed and sitting area to watch TV. Everything you need is at your finger tips and meticulously organized. The most detailed pet parent guide is also printed for you. Everything is within walking distance with beautiful walks, lakes, parks, views, coffee shops and restaurants. I highly encourage you to walk. It is a beautiful place for scenery. Winnie is the most sweet and layed back Chihuahua I have ever met. We loved our walks together and she is such a trooper and quite the little character. She is funny and sweet. Loves her treats and lap time at night. She is well trained and gets along very well with everybody, humans and pets alike. Sherwood is a beautiful blue beta. Thank you so much Andrew family, Winnie and Sherwood for hosting me. I Highly recommend this sit and I hope to return in the near future.
