It was a dream looking after Quincy & Maxy, they soon warmed up to me and we spent the weekend cuddled on the sofa. It was so fun getting to know both of their personalities, and they are both well behaved and great characters. Patricia & Louisa are perfect hosts, they picked me up and dropped me off at nearby stations which helped massively as a traveller with a huge suitcase! They welcomed me into their home, were great with communication before and during the visit, left me well equipped for the stay. I'd recommend this stay, and anybody who gets the opportunity should go for it! I hope to see Quincy & Maxi again soon.
During our housesitting experience at Bev and Julie's place, we had the pleasure of looking after Bobby, a gentle and talkative companion, and Tippy, an easygoing and food-loving furball - both incredibly adorable and affectionate. Taking care of their chickens added a fun aspect to our stay, and feeding the beautiful birds that frequented the area was an absolute delight. The cozy home provided a welcoming retreat from our travels, and the fact that it was within walking distance of the Main Street in Hahndorf, a charming German style town, meant we had heaps of shops, cafés, and restaurants to explore. Bev and Julie are exceptionally warm and hospitable hosts. Communication with them was effortless, and they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable with the house and the care of their pets. Our time at their place was truly wonderful, and we're grateful for everything. Thank you, Bev and Julie, for sharing your home and your lovely pets with us.
I really enjoyed this sit! Dexter is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and is a great walking buddy. Anna was very friendly and great at communicating. I definitely recommend coming here!
Wonderful experience pet sitting for Gwen and Bonnie! It was a pleasure pet sitting at a lovely family home. Gwen and Bonnie, the dogs, are absolute delights! One young, one old - both were full of personality and brought so much joy to the house. Tara and her lovely fam were great and Tara was kind enough to fetch and drop me from the train station. Miss them already :)
We had a fantastic time thanks to Lovely warm and welcoming hosts Mark and Vikki on Nevis island If you are looking for a relaxed house sitting Beau and Rufus are great company and no trouble at all to look after. They drink plenty of water so every few hours good to check on levels in bowls . The use of hosts car was very much appreciated to see the local area . There are plenty of buses available a short 1O minutes walk away and Taxis if you don't drive. The local people have such warm open friendly nature that's what you might miss the most. I would love to return to Nevis again if possible to see everyone again. Namaste
Malcolm and I had the most perfect week at Meadshaw Farm, with the two Border Terriers Tarka and Tilly, Miss Keets the cat, the chickens and ducks (who were prolific layers) plu the 35 or so sheep, though it was hard to keep count. Our comfortable accommodation was attached to the farmhouse, and through an adjoining door we had access to a fully equipped kitchen. There is other Air B&B accommodation on site. The farm was isolated which suited us perfectly, 7 miles from the main A7 and 9 miles into Hawick. We chose not to drive anywhere, but with the dogs explored the local countryside and hills, following a series of paths outlined in a booklet developed by members of the local community. Tarka and Tilly were characters and full of adventure, but always ready for a cuddle or tummy scratch. Daniele and Bill were extremely welcoming, and we enjoyed their brief company right from the outset and have no doubt that we will remain friends. Daniele prepared a meal for us on our arrival, and showed us the ropes as well as take us on a short walk with the dogs so we could see how they behaved. In short, if you enjoy the Borders countryside, peace and quiet, and love to walk or bike ride then this is the house sit for you. But saying that there are a number of lovely towns that are close enough for a morning or afternoon visit. If the opportunity presents itself and we are in the UK we will have no hesitation whatsoever to house sit again....but for longer please!
