A fun sit in a lovely town along the river!

To start, Haydes, Chai, and Echo were quite a hoot as a group given their very different personalities. We found Haydes to be the most outgoing and affectionate. He would happily hop in our laps if ever given the chance. He loved being petted and his twirls, snuffles, and grunts of delight made us laugh again and again. Chai is quite timid (we knew she would be given her background) however she warmed up to affection, especially when Haydes was so clearly enjoying the love. We felt grateful that Haydes seemed aware of Chai’s needs, as at times he acted as her voice alerting us that she needed to go outside. Echo spent most of his time outside but when he came in, if he stayed for a while, he might hop up in a lap for a few pets or a snooze.

The house is a remarkable place with many wonderful amenities. We had everything we needed for our stay. The view of the river is great with eagles and other wildlife in abundance.

The town was a delight and we discovered Pioneer Day happening while we were there. A parade and a festival at the park were the highlights. The area itself was great for a stroll and near anything we needed.

Kathleen and Gregory were generous and gracious hosts. They showed us around and walked us through the particulars before leaving, were readily available and responsive when questions arose, and were super easy to work with.

All in all an enjoyable time!

Jean
Jean was very easy to deal with and her house was very comfortable and in a fantastic location with excellent riverside paths for Teddy walks. Teddy is a wonderful dog who laps up affection and was a pleasure to care for. A thunderstorm meant Teddy needed a few extra cuddles and the internet needed a re-start. That was the extent of any difficulties. The cold and rainy weather meant we didn’t get to use the fabulous pool and BBQ area but we were warm and cosy inside and the lemons from her tree were a treat. Overall we enjoyed our time at Jean’s.

Sandra and John were very welcoming and responded quickly when I struggled to find their house in the dark. I came the night before so I could learn the ropes in the morning and they brought me a coffee up in bed which was lovely.
Rory the dog didn’t stay for the sit and went with them, so I just had the three horses and the gorgeous cats.
It’s hard work, you need to be an experienced equestrian to take on this sit, poo picking extremely muddy fields is what I found the hardest. The stables were manageable even though Cassie is messy bless her! The horses are so lovely and well trained, each with their own cheap to them. Sunny is green and scared but with some supportive natural horseman ground work I believe he can become more confident. He’s not ridden but just a companion for the others. Everything was well explained and played out. There was a mistake on some timings but a quick phone call confirmation sorted it. I felt supported with a friendly on call neighbour and Cara who came to ride Cassie. We went on a hack together with me riding Toby and it was lovely. Lovely trained horses. The cats often bring in little friends to come down to in the morning which you need to dispose of…! Overall it was a nice getaway from my current city life but I’d only recommend for experienced hard driven sitters! I will happily come back.

Lucy is a sweet, smart and chill dog who is a delight to take care of. She loves to nap in the mornings, play in her yard and hang out on the couch watching the birds during the day. No dramatics if you are away for a while, happy to see you when you return, queen of the zoomies when she’s feeling it. Ginger and Al were very warm and welcoming, communication was open and friendly from start to finish. Their cozy, spotless and spacious apartment isn’t far from downtown Frankfurt, as well as having parks and supermarkets nearby. I would recommend this sit to anyone – thank you both for giving me the opportunity to ‘spoil’ Lucy!

Joe and Kiana’s place was gorgeous. Exactly as pictured and a beautiful serene space for a Phoenix visit. Ollie and Bodhi are so sweet and the cutest little buddies. They were super well behaved and loved backyard jaunts. Bodhi was a smart little thief and dragged my headband and socks around the house but he dutifully traded me things for carrots and it was quite adorable. I can’t overstate how much I recommend this sit! 💙💙💙
