Sharon and Martin were amazing hosts. Extremely welcoming and generous. The property is really nice and so are the animals. We fell in love with Kovu and the chickens. Kiara was easy and very chill. Louise and Owen kindly picked us up from the airport. We enjoyed the interesting conversations before and after their holiday. The house was very welcoming and they took great care in showing us Sid & Molly's favourite walks along with some sights. Sid & Molly behaved very well and we felt comfortable walking on beach and woodland without the leash. Sister Mary, the adorable cat, was looking for our cuddles everyday a bit more, until she would be waiting already next to our bedroom door to be let in, sometimes spending the night with us. On our last day Molly brought one stone into the living room, maybe her way to say good-bye?
What a fantastic experience. We felt incredible lucky to have house-sat for this lovely couple. The home is gorgeous, and in a superb location. Sunny-girl is low-maintenance and lovely. Would be happy to return!
Really darling, easy dogs and cats. I would do this sit again without hesitation. The house is comfortable and has good light, ventilation and air conditioning. Internet and Roku TV are fast and reliable. Susan and Jeff are kind and communicative - just the sort of people you want to sit for.
The star of the show for this housesit is Koa. She is a sweet, gentle and playful little pup who is a joy to look after. She kept us entertained and was excellent company. The location of the housesit is in the beautiful Kitsilano neighborhood. It was a pleasure walking Koa in any direction and admiring the architecture and front gardens. It is a charming, appealing and safe area. There is a grocery store a block away and many restaurants within walking distance. Having a car is a good idea. Our rental helped get us around town easily and take a few day trips further afield. The apartment is in a multi-unit building which was quiet and peaceful. Marya’s unit is small as mentioned in the description. There were several cardboard boxes stacked in the living and dining area with no space to be put away. Marya gave us permission to rearrange boxes to make it easier to be in the space and get our suitcases up off the floor in the bedroom. There was no space to unpack and we spent 3 weeks living from our suitcases. This wasn’t that big of a deal and might be a temporary situation, but is why we give the sit 4 stars rather than 5. If the storage situation is solved, it would be a very enjoyable apartment. Koa is an absolute lovely companion and the neighborhood is beautiful. Marya was kind and helped us in every way she could. We are happy to recommend this sit.
We really enjoyed this house sit so much. Sheelah and Orvind were such gracious hosts and invited us to their home for a delicious dinner the night before with leftovers for the next day! The three tonkinese cats were adorable and so easy to care for. It was heartwarming to see them all sleep so lovingly close together. Saskia turned out to be a real lap cat who enjoyed lots of snuggles. Their house is in an ideal area with two pubs within a three to four minute walk. There were also walking paths though a little forest in the same area that was so pleasant! We walked to the next village along this beautiful path. We highly recommend this house sit and would love to return in the future.
