It was an absolute pleasure looking after Ernie and the guinea pigs; Clare and Jonny are really welcoming people and and I felt instantly comfortable in their lovely home. They made sure I had everything I needed and were always quick to respond whenever I contacted them. Ernie is fantastic company; he loves his cuddles, loved being in your company and has a very gentle, sweet character. The guinea pigs were also great company, I loved their little chirupping when I went into feed them! Brewood is also a fantastic village;and Clare and Jonny's place is right in the heart of it - fantastic for exploring the lovely countryside and canal walks, enjoy the boutique shops and the fab pubs and restaurants -overall this is a fabulous sit!
The Hillcrest area of Hamilton was close to the beautiful Hamilton Gardens which are a MUST SEE, the Waikato River and local dog park where the dogs love a swim (especially Mac) and a fetch, and walking distance to a tasty cafe. Shops and the CBD are a short drive or a long walk for the ambitious. The family home has wonderful French doors in three different spots which allow the house to stay cool. I also enjoyed the ease of going in and out between the deck by the pool and the main house and the main house and the ensuite. There is plenty of space for sitting in the sun and enjoying a cup of coffee or cold beverage while listening to the birds above. As for the animals, I have a special spot in my heart for all of them. Daisy leaps in joy and excitement any time a walk or car ride is offered and if this doesn't make you smile from ear to ear, then you must have something wrong with you. Mac the lab LOVES a good belly rub and was the friendliest dog at the park and river. He is always okay off leash because he is so well-behaved. Daisy has a bit of little dog, "all bark, no bite" syndrome when it comes to other dogs, so she is best kept on her leash when out and about. As for people, she, like her brother, loves affection and a good pet. Stan the cat will meow at all times for food, but wouldn't you if that were your only job? Daisy also could give Stan a growl and chase every now and then, but Stan could take it. Waihi Beach is only about an hour and 20 minutes away and worth a day trip for the beautiful hike at the north end of the beach. Raglan Beach is also only 50 minutes away (the western coast) and a great spot for dogs who love a swim. I definitely recommend this house sit if you love friendly animals and want to be in a great spot to access many attractions.
I had a wonderful experience! This was my first sit and everything went smoothly. Everything was well explained and Marcela was very communicative throughout my stay. I loved looking after all the pets and I’m now inspired to have a pet lobster as well 😂💚
One of my favorite sits of all time. Brenna and Joel are warm, welcoming and thorough. Buddy the cat is a lovebug who I got a lot of head butts from. He is a fantastic companion and that’s not even mentioning the beautiful house! Brenna did a wonderful job of leaving helpful sticky notes and answering my questions promptly which is always appreciated. Highly highly recommend! Thank you Joel and Brenna!
Jennifer and Yves were very attentive and welcomed us with everything we needed for a good stay in their home. It was a stay with excellent communication, we received a super clean and organized house. Jennifer gave us all the important information and was very clear about all the care for Moscow and Saphir.
