Cory kept the place clean and my high-maintenance goats, chickens and puppy very happy and healthy!
A wonderful sit! Pam was very communicative before, during, and after the sit. Marley is a gorgeous cat who doesn't seek attention but absolutely loves attention. She and I spent many hours on the floor together slowly petting, brushing, and just talking. By Day 2 she was rolling over for belly rubs and by Day 6 she was lifting her hind end for butt-rubs :) The condo is very comfortable and close to everything. Marley is deeply loved by Pam, and taking care of her precious fur-baby was a privilege!
An easy sit in a home with everything you could possibly need; a cat with character; owner's too -- practical, pleasant, considerate and prompt with communications if needed. Great kitchen for foodies; nice deck, view, pond, organic veggies to weed/harvest if timing is right! Quiet neighborhood and pleasant helpful neighbors. Sherwood is convenient to the Big City and the Big Box places but just far enough off the traffic zones to have several good walking parks; a lovely 'old town' village, and a tremendous Y pool, rec center nearby if one needs more than the exercise bike in the 'office'! The only caution is that the lousy US public sector transport means a car is almost a necessity. Thank you Catherine, Roger and Binx!
We loved this sit with so many beautiful country walks that leave directly from the house. Francesca warmly welcomed us and all the dogs were affectionate, cuddly and well trained. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable and sparkling clean with thoughtful touches throughout and a lovely garden. Blenheim palace, a Roman Villa site and lovely pubs are all walkable, including the Bird in Hand and The Lamb Inn. Witney town is also close by with everything you need, including a bookshop and more cafes and restaurants.
Meet Ellie, the delightful standard parti poodle! She's the perfect blend of composure and calmness. She brought playfulness and humor into the days we watched over her. Ellie neatly hops into the car for a ride. She savors her wet food with thoughtfulness and has a preference for grazing some kibble throughout the day. She absolutely adores attention, whether it's through gentle stroking, talking, laying at our feet, sharing the garden sofa with us or coming over when called for a treat. And let's not forget her enthusiasm for leashed walks, also on especially when accompanied by the adorable neighbor’s dog Maeby! Our experience at Doug and Alison's home was truly exceptional, thanks to Alison's meticulous preparations. From a personal introduction to a delightful lunch and a well-updated house manual, every detail was taken care of. Staying in their home was a joy, and the idyllic location provided endless entertainment because of the vibrant birdlife around. We had the privilege of using the guest wing, complete with personal facilities and a cozy bedroom that ensured a restful night's sleep. Taking care of Ellie brought us immense happiness. Thank you, Doug and Alison for creating such a welcoming environment and entrusting us with the care of the lovely Ellie. We truly appreciate the warmth and thoughtfulness you've extended to us during our stay.
Housesitting Lucky and the chickens was an absolute pleasure! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed into their cozy home. Lucky is such a cutie; we quickly became buddies, going for walks and playing fetch on the oval. The house itself was immaculate and very comfortable, making it easy to settle in. Communication with Robin and Sandra was good throughout, which made everything run smoothly. We would love to housesit Lucky and the chickens again anytime!
Irene and Marco were great hosts. The apartment is clean and spacious, and near the centre of Bulle. This gave us the chance to visit beautiful Gruyere, Bern and Lausanne, as well as to do some very pretty walks in the countryside and mountains. Mila is very independent but adores a good brush, once she gets to know you. We recommend house sitting for Irene in Bulle.
