The most lovely hosts and an unforgettable dog. I still laugh about Bruce’s grunts :). Lovely people, lovely area and a loving dog. Can’t ask for much more when looking for a place to call home for a few days. I would be very happy to sit for them again and enjoy the purple decor, the home-y feel and of course, Bruce’s ham feeding sessions :) Catherine and Darren made sure I had everything I needed and were even so kind as to give me an extra night in their home. These are not just your average folk. These are people who live everyday with love in their hearts. Thank you 😊
We had such a wonderful time sitting for Miki, Mauka, and the chickens! Miki warmed up to us immediately and was sweet and cuddly. Mauka took a little longer to warm up to us, but she was a sweetheart with great energy and kept us laughing at her antics. The chickens were easy to care for and gifted us with delicious fresh eggs to enjoy. Put simply, it was joyful for us to care for Miki, Mauka, and the chickens! Natasha and Timothy were welcoming and generous. Their home is well organized, comfortable and beautiful, and being in it with a breathtaking view of the Champlain Valley and Adirondack Mountains filled us with a sense of peacefulness. Their home is in a great location for exploring Vermont. In a short drive one has access to great hikes and quiet country roads to bike on, and some lovely towns, including Vergennes and Middlebury. Within slightly longer drive one can reach Burlington and all that the Green Mountains have to offer. Natasha and Timothy made us feel welcome, left clear instructions, and were easy to communicate with both before and during the sit. We are very grateful we had the chance to do this sit and would be delighted to sit for them again if we have the opportunity.
Ryan is a super friendly and humorous host! Communication was excellent and he was always available when we had questions. It is easy to take care of Cosmo, he walks three times a day. In the morning and just before bed, a short lap is enough for him. Once a day he appreciates a longer walk, but for no more than an hour since he is a bit older. He doesn't hear well anymore, so it's good if you take good care of him so he doesn't get in front of a bike. He does not like big male dogs, he barks then, but you can control him well, it is not a problem. I also don't recommend putting food on the coach table because he steals right in front of you! But it made us laugh :D He only tolerates his dog food, so it's good if that doesn't happen often. If you eat at the kitchen table, it is the most relaxed. We have also been very happy that Cosmo is not a bed dog, he sleeps in the living room at night. Since he doesn't hear that well, he also very rarely barks. So you can sleep and work well in the apartment. The apartment is clean and extremely comfortable. We slept well in the bed and the couch is also very cozy. For movie nights there is a projector and we could also barbecue on the balcony one day. We fully recommend Ryan and Cosmo and we would definitely look after Cosmo again :)
Trooper and Skipper were awesome for our entire stay! Trooper is a lazy bones, and Skipper full of energy - watching him in the midst of his zoomies was quite entertaining and kept me laughing! Also lots of fun to be had playing fetch in the fenced in yard. Returning with the fetched item is not in Skipper's wheelhouse, but that's okay - we had tons of fun playing keep away! The host home was beautifully decorated for the holidays, providing a wonderfully warm and cozy backdrop for my daughter and I to enjoy a just for two Thanksgiving. They also asked us ahead of time for any specific food requests, so that we would have some of our preferred items available - super thoughtful! We had a wonderful time and would love to visit Trooper and Skipper again in the future!
If you would love uninterrupted views of the South Downs, a beautiful oak framed barn, and a delightful group of pets, then this is a fabulous sit! Jennie and Hugh were lovely hosts and made me feel very welcome. Thanks for a fantastic experience!
I had a great time in Grand Rapids with Lola. Antonella was generous, kind and welcoming. Their home was clean, well equipped and very cozy. The location was great for getting around and exploring the area. There was a plumbing issue and they were quick to respond to my messages and devise a plan even being out of the country. Lola was the best part of course! She is such a little sweetheart and loves to snuggle at night. She was a bit shy about letting me know when she needed to go out but letting her out every 4 hours or so resolved that. She absolutely loves her daily walks, though I think she believes they’re squirrel hunts. She loves treats and knows a lot of cute tricks. I would recommend this sit to anyone and I’d be happy to return!
