This was my dream sit! After applying to Andy and Neil's listing, their communication was on point, prompt, fun yet professional. From the well put-together welcome book and videos on an SD card to the lovely neighbors-turned-friends and all that came along with them, I had a wonderful experience. Their very furry pets were delights to live and play with. Gorgeous Fergus is a bit aloof compared to peppy, cuddly Rufous. The highlight of my nights was the hilarity of watching the cats play with their feather and laser beam toys. I left a Siberian cat lover which I've never thought I'd say! Ezi and Iqhwa were so well-trained, it was almost effortless to take them on the many walks we did in the area. Being a solo sitter who loves long forays in the country, I not only appreciated their company, but felt quite safe out in new places as well. A bonus is there are countless, gorgeous walks within a short distance from the property. Just be careful of horses and hounds on the roads! (that was only on one weekend day) I am so grateful I found Andy and Neil, and very much plan to apply for their future sits.
Catsitting for Faryal was my very first Trusted Housesitters experience and I absolutely could have not asked for a better one! Katniss is a gorgeous and quiet kitty and it was great to spend a week together and slowly having her become less shy while I was around (by the last day, she was sitting next to me while I was doing remote work - too cute!). Faryal is very communicative and extremely accommodating - I was extremely grateful to be able to use her kitchen to do a lot of home cooking while I was there, it made traveling life a lot easier. She also has a lot of great recommendations of things to do in the area which are listed in the Welcome Guide. On top of everything, she helped me to arrange a way to rush back to Florida at the end of my stay to beat a hurricane that was about to go right over my driving route. :O I was very appreciative of this home-sit as it made it possible to explore 'the Triangle' area while having a feeling of being at home while I was visiting.
