An absolutely beautiful property not far from town. Very peaceful environment with a big yard for Misty to run and play in. Misty was a lot of fun and a sweet girl!
First when we arrived we were greeted by Samson and breakfast. We felt like home immediately as Sarah and David are the most lovely couple who took their time to show us around the house and explained Samson’s routine to us. Sarah also gave us a well structured handover letting us know about the best parks to go for a walk, where to do your shopping and more which you can refer back to. Samson is the best dog you can imagine. In the morning Samson is already waiting for you sitting on the stairs to get his morning cuddles. In the afternoon Samson lets you know that it is time for his walk by looking at you and wagging his tail. Of course he also lets you know when it’s dinner time. He is very well behaved and will sit down for you to put his leash on. He is crazy about his balls and will catch them, bring them back but won’t give them up so make sure you have a second ball to throw for him. At home he will start a game where he puts the ball down and wants you to catch it before he does. In the evening we sat in the TV room where you can either watch Netflix or choose between a wide variety of David’s movies. Samson will cuddle with you which was my favourite part of the day. He is such a fun, uncomplicated, loving and trusting dog that you don’t need any experiences to look after him. The house is just stunning. You have a cosy living room and so much space. We are both working remotely and you can even choose which study room you would like to work in. The WIFI connection is great so meetings weren’t a problem. We were sad that we had to leave and would love to return any time.
This sit was the best introduction to Taos. The house is immaculate and beautiful in a very safe and convenient location walkable distance from grocery store and Taos center. The cats are a fabulous mixed bunch of free spirits who let you know they are ready for food by congregating around the patio. The best part of this sit was getting to know Maria and Kurt who generously included me in a family brunch and 2 dinners. It was a real pleasure to be together.
Jo and Rollo were the perfect hosts and very kindly invited us round for dinner and to spend the night before they departed as our drive was quite long. We had such a wonderful time looking after Mungo, Dudley and all the chickens and ducks in their gorgeous home. The area is absolutely beautiful - and just the thing for recharging your batteries! Thank you so much Jo, we hope our paths will cross again.
We enjoyed spending time with Cody, Chiquita and the cats. Cody is a happy dog with the soul of a puppy. He loves playing with the ball. Chiquita loves being with people and she always enjoyed the belly rubs. They are both good with small children. The cats are all different personalities and we fell in love with all of them. Unfortunately all three got ill with some ear problem so we had to give them medication twice a day, but they were really brave and patient and didn't get mad at us at all. :) Taking care of the goats was really easy. The house is comfortable. We enjoyed many sunny days sunbathing at the pool. Elaine and David are kind and generous hosts. The best thing about this sit for us was definitely the location. We loved the quiet rural setting with views of the mountains. It's so green there even after a hot and dry summer. There are many orange, olive and almond groves and beautiful woods. For nature (and of course animal) lovers this is the best place! We are very happy that we will come back to house sit here at Christmas.
Kara was amazing! Easy to communicate with and extremely kind. I loved everything about taking care of Trixie and Kara’s home. Trixie was a great companion. I became very attached to her. I will miss her. I would go back anytime and recommend to anyone. Was a pleasure. Thank you Kara
