I absolutely love Salty Dog Pet Services. My experiences hiring Salty Dog for cat sitting have been nothing but fantastic. Whenever I go away, I know my cats are happy and well taken care of. Shani, the owner, texts me pictures of my cats every time she comes over to feed them, and it's so clear how much she cares for all of her clients pets. I can't recommend highly enough!!

We love Salty Dog! Very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They develop a real relationship with our pets and I feel completely confident leaving them in their hands. They work hard to meet our needs, send text & photo updates so that we know all is well. It is so good to have this service offered and done so well!

Shani is super reliable, always sends photo updates and the best part is my pets love her. I feel totally comfortable leaving my animals in her care. I've even had some animals with medical and behavioral needs (I foster) during her visits and I've never had any concerns with her ability to tend to them.

My 3 pups just love going to great island kennel. We all love Hallie. Even our very nervous boy who can’t wait to get out the car and see her! I’m a hovercraft mom and my mind is at ease when I drop the pups off for boarding.

We absolutely love Great Island Kennel! We’ve boarded our dog with them several times over the years with confidence he’ll be well taken care of. Now, our dog starts to get excited when we pull up and is so happy to see his friends that he doesn’t even say goodbye!

My 2 German shorthaired pointers stayed 7 days at great island kennel. Hallie was able to get my dogs to eat, and gave there medications they needed at no extra charge. I highly recommend them I won't take my dogs anywhere else

They genuinely care about our pup and remember her by name, accommodate any requests or questions, and are exceptionally friendly and professional. Our dog is usually skittish around other pups, but she leaves every time wagging and calm. I rest easy knowing they take such good care.

We have been taking our English Springer Spaniel here for "seaside vacations" for almost 10 years now. Never had a less than wonderful experience. The kennel is super clean (and unlike the only bad review states, it is separate from the house) and Rusty enjoys the outdoor play area. When he has needed medication I have no concerns leaving it with them to administer. He recognizes the drive and is excited and happy to be there. I recommend it highly.

My dog stayed a week or so on boarding with Grand Island Kennel during our summer vacation. The oder of the place was terrible. The dogs I saw in their living room did not seem happy at all. Because the water bowls are hidden somewhere hard to find for the dogs. I am not quite sure if they did that on purpose so that they could reduce the times to bring the dogs out for bathroom. The first thing my dog did after we picked him up was to drink lot of water from the water bottle that we brought him. The worst part is, my dog got severe cough and strange loud noise in his throat right after he got home. We had to bring him to the vet. It turned out that he was infected a certain type of kennel cough from where he stayed. Although he’s got vaccine of kennel cough, it was unable to protect him from all kinds of kennel cough. He got well soon, but he’s got some problem with his respiratory system ever since. I will never use Grand Island Kennel again!

Oh my gosh, I wonder if Governmint is confusing Great Island with another kennel. We have been taking our dogs there for 8 years. They LOVE it and come home tired — a sure sign that they are getting plenty of exercise. Everything is perfect. Clean, professional, dog-loving environment. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. In fact, I stumbled on these reviews when I went to look up the kennel's phone number — we will be leaving our two goldens and one australian cattle dog at Great Island for two weeks while we are on vacation. Great Island Kennel rocks!!!!!

Did not watch my dog. She ate all of the treats (including some of the bag). Needed to go to the vet and be on antibiotics.

They are wonderful, very knowledgeable people who understand the different needs of different dogs.

Great place for the doggos to have fun with eachother, staff is fun and friendly. Prices are a little high, but worth it for the service. I wouldn't worry about the contract mentioned in the other review Even though written in, negligence isn't something that can be excused legally in a contract in Maine. It's just a deterrent thrown in there.

I’m probably the most neurotic and exacting dog Mom in Maine! But the cottage exceeds my expectations! My Akita Sammy, has been coming since January 2015, and he LOVES the care he receives here!!! Daisy Mae, our lab, also comes and considers herself the futon princess 💕 The staff goes the 2nd mile each and every day and we so appreciate them!!!!

Doggie Cottage has been an excellent and supportive place for boarding our cat and dog, as well as, taking excellent care for our dog three days a week. The folks there listen and understand the needs of who they are providing care for. I could go on and on! The management of the facility is always improving the property for their clients. I would not go anywhere else. We love them! Bryan B

My 3 girls have been boarded and attended daycare here and love it! They come home happy and tired! I have one social butterfly, one big mouth, and one very anxious pup- all three are up there in age but not spirit. I never worry when they're here as the entire staff are very personable with each dog making sure all 3 have a wonderful time, everytime.

I regret not bringing my pup here sooner. The staff at the Doggie Cottage are so wonderful and we love bringing our Lab Tucker here. You can tell how much they love their daycare pups and as a worrisome dog mom, it means the world to know someone is caring for my dog like I would. Tuck loves going so much that we can’t make any sudden movements around the 6:30 am time because he expects that it’s time to go to daycare and gets ridiculously excited. The best doggie daycare. Phil, Ashlee, Doryann & staff really care about all the dogs. Staff is the best. The cottage is a place that puts a smile on your face. Marty the party looks forward to hanging out with her furry friends everyday, especially with Leroy and Gus. Since this last post Martha passed away. We now have a new puppy Martha #4. Ashlee, Kylie, Madi, Jordyn & the rest of the staff comforted us when Martha passed, they were all there for us which we greatly appreciated. Martha #4 is part of the team at the cottage. She loves everyone there. We greatly appreciate the time and effort of the staff. Tremendous help with training. Martha #4 also is now being groomed by their absolutely fabulous groomer. So grateful to Ashley for taking her on. She was getting to be too much for me to handle. Thank you, thank you Doggie Cottage, your the best! There is no other playground for Martha#4 like the cottage.
