Our first house-sitting experience was absolutely epic. We could not have asked for a more amazing experience at this beautiful home of love-beings…animals and people.

Gwyn and Jacha welcomed us to their wonderful home in the hills of Snowdonia three days ahead of their departure, allowing us to get to know each other, the property, and their adorable animals. Gwyn and Jacha are truly loving and kind people with an extra deep connection and dedication to animals. We quickly fell in love with Skollie and Jenum, the two easy-going, super-loving and fun dogs; Monty, the 20 year old parrot; Lilli and Pacha, the cats with beautiful characters; the six chickens and colorful fish.

Our daily routine included letting out and feeding the chickens (that Keith amusingly named The Cluck-Cluck Girls) in the morning, returning them to their housing at the sundown, and the privilege of collecting freshly laid eggs to enjoy as part of our meals. We also enjoyed taking care of the rest of our new love-animal family, including the most interesting verbal/ singing interactions with their parrot Monty. She was a pleasure to take care and we were quite amazed at how she communicated.

The highlights were the two beautiful hikes with Skollie and Jenum in the forest that lies behind the property up into the hills. Lush in beautiful shapes of green, this paradise of nature and farm animals allowed us to truly indulge in this incredible house sitting adventure while mindfully enjoying the magnificent landscapes and fresh Welsh air. Skollie and Jenum were the best hiking companions and we never needed a lead during our treks. They quickly trusted us and looked forward to their walks. We also noticed that they preferred that both Keith and I were on the walks with them together instead of one of us staying back at the house. Back at the house, they enjoyed playing with each other in the garden, and having us as their loving audience, often joining in. They quickly shifted to sleeping in their own designated spots in our bedroom. The energies were truly beautiful, as well as with the other animals.

We also had our daily love moments and enjoyed the distinct characteristics of Lilli and Pacha the cats.

Taking care of, and interacting with, Monty was a new and unique experience. She is very “talkative” with a lot of singing energy. It was beyond a pleasure to sing and talk with Monty throughout our house-sitting stay. What beauty these animals are, including the chickens.

Loving thanks to Gwyn and Jacha for their above-and-beyond kindness and hospitality. And we thank Monty, Skollie, Jenum, Lili, Pacha, the Cluck-Cluck Girls and the fish for mindful, healing, and fun moments. Our two weeks at this magical place, including enjoying the beautifully gardened property and Snowdonia area, were indeed epic. We can only recommend anyone to experience this beautiful home, loving people, and their love-animals.

Namaste!

Kitty Li the cat was a very special friend who was a little skittish upon our arrival but soon became a wonderful companion.

She requested her daily petting sessions and returned often if you sat quietly in the living room. She is super-intelligent and loves to purr loudly for you.
We miss her already!

Laura and Albin are an amazingly generous couple. We had a very warm welcome upon arrival and they treated us to dinner during our first couple of nights before their trip. It was a pleasure to meet such interesting owners.

We enjoyed exploring Davos and surrounding communities during our long stay.

We’re avid walkers and hikers and loved the many paths near and far from the house.

During our 3-month housesit, we were able to experience the end of summer, autumn and the start of an early winter. Throughout those changes, the scenery was spectacular.

If you’re sitting for Kitty Li in winter, the ski hill is accessible from the house.

With winter coming early and in abundance during our stay, it certainly enhanced our experiences and photography opportunities. The winter scenery is absolutely breathtaking!

Albin and Laura’s large, Swiss-style house is in a very quiet neighbourhood, close to shopping and within walking distance to many amenities.

We couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to experience Switzerland’s beauty and culture.

Thank you Laura and Albin!

We cared one weekend for the dog Stacy and the cat Dexter.
Miranda and Graeme are very lovely people! They are very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to stay one night earlier and we had very nice communications. They cooked an amazing dinner for us! Thank you so much for that!!!! After, they took their time for showing us the cat and dog routine (very easy).

Stacy is a very lovely family dog. She loves cuddles and has a very good education. She is very easy to handle and is happy for 1 or 2 big or short walks per day.

Dexter is an cute cat and needs a lot of attention. He always came for cuddles and jumped in the morning on bed for cuddles.

The house was very clean and cozy!
The area is beautiful. A lot of trees, mountains, close to shops and train station. During walkies, we saw an koala in the neighbourhood. It was a lovely housesit with cute animals and we can highly recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Cara in Muswell Hill. The house was lovely and homely, a great place to work from. An even better place to take walks with Cara. I was made to feel relaxed and also given sufficient information as well as a meet up before the sit which allowed Cara and I to have a "test walk". I hope to be back next year.

Daphne's home is a delight as it is all on one level round a beautiful raised bed herb garden which is completely fenced..
She kindly invited me the night before to go through
Sapphie and daughter Topaz doggie routine plus provided a delicious supper.
The kitchen is open plan and leads directly to the wonderful garden where the doggies loved to sit when I was watering or they followed me into the kitchen. They love company and are never far away.
Some super walks from the barn but walking along the road first requires them both on leads. Once in the fields both doggies had good recall providing they did not spot a rabbit!
They both enjoy strokes and being affectionate but Topaz prefers to come to you first and not really into tummy rubs. Sapphie will lie down for tummy rub anytime!
Both love raw carrots as treats which echoes the vegan food that Daphne is passionate about in her work and personal life.
