Heather
Wow, what an amazing house sit. Keith and Heather welcomed me into their home 2 nights early to allow me to get familiar with the house, area and most importantly the adorable Bentley. I was made to feel part of the family and Heather made 2 delicious evening meals, which were gorgeous. The house is amazing, situated on the River Ouse, with incredible sunrise and sunset views. It really was idyllic. I met Keith and Heathers, daughter and son and law (and kids), who kindly took over the care of Bentley for 1 night when I had to travel back home for a family funeral.
The star of the show had to be Bentley. He really was adorable, very obedient and we enjoyed our afternoon games of throw and retrieve. Dont expect to get up to high speed on walks though, as for most dogs he loves a good sniff.
This was my longest sit so far at 5 weeks and I honestly didnt want to leave. Everything was perfect and very much hope our diaries can align in future so I can sit for Bentley again. I was sad to leave him.

Taneal
Freya and Odin are such gentle loving dogs. Freya was suffering from a torn ACL/CCL in her back leg, but it did not affect her temperament and she was a total sweetheart. I came to the home without any prior introduction to the dogs and without Taneal present, and they both took me in as part of the family. The home is a beautiful house that was perfectly appointed for a guest stay. I felt very comfortable caring for the pups and they made for a very relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Odin is a bit shy (most of my pictures of him were with his head turned away) but loves getting affection and Freya will follow you anywhere you go. Beautiful dogs in a fantastic house. Thank you Taneal!

More than things, experiences are what makes life great. And this was fantastic sit and life experience by any measure. Kelly and Willie are a cool, interesting and laidback couple. Very welcoming. Their gorgeous home is spacious, immaculate and comfortable with spectacular mountain views, including Steamboat Lake. A bonus is that Steamboat is a beautiful city with a lot of friendly people.

Miller and Karlie are wonderful. They’re older but still very active, curious and enjoy walks, treats, breakfast, dinner, chasing chipmunks and especially scratches on the head and shoulder massages. Miller, in particular, will let you know if you stop scratching too soon.

I completed the sit with my 11-pound dog, Annie, and although Miller and Karlie are considerably larger than her, the three of them became fast friends hanging out and sleeping together with me in the same bed. Nary a cross word between them.

The four of us walked on mostly shaded trails throughout the expansive property three times a day although Miller would sometimes skip the midday walk and wait for us on the front porch. Miller and Karlie knew their way on all the trails (and often led me) and didn’t need to be leashed.

We also walked at nearby Pearl Lake, which is a beautiful 167-acre lake with several easy trails on the perimeter. Miller and Karlie are also great house companions and will generally stay close by although Karlie likes to sunbathe on the deck every afternoon.

A 10-star sit on a scale of 5. Annie and I will definitely visit Kelly, Willie, Miller and Karlie if we’re ever through the area again. Thank you, Kelly and Willie, for inviting Annie and I into your home for this unforgettable experience. Give Miller and Karlie big hugs for us.

Tara
So happy we got the opportunity to take care of Dot and Tara‘s home. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you need. We felt really comfortable! We loved hanging out with Dottie, she’s the cutest dog and so easy to take care of. The communication with Tara before and during the sit was super easy and we could always text her when there was a question. We can highly recommend this house sit! Thank you, Tara!
