Dorothy is a pleasure to catsit. She's affectionate, takes her medication like a pro, and occasionally retreats for her quiet time away from humans. Joanne trusted us for our first petsit through this service, and left us detailed instructions and a much-appreciated welcome gift. Her apartment is well-equipped, and is located near the water in a calm, leafy neighbourhood where parking was always easy to find. And, as per other reviews, her bed is very comfy! We miss Dorothy!
Prior to arrival at Jane and Cath’s we’d had contact by video conference call, lots of texts and video texts with very clear instructions for looking after their property and their lovely cat, Lucky. We arrived in the evening when it was dark and so it wasn’t until the next morning that we were able to view the beauty of their location. It’s quite stunning and they’re very fortunate to have the views they have from their windows. The property is also a beauty, very well appointed and had been left spotlessly clean for our arrival. We had been advised about the route from the town to the house being on a steep gradient. It’s not wrong advice and if you’re without a car whilst visiting, be aware!!! LOL We didn’t let it stop our enjoyment of our stay and taxis are readily available if you’re in a position to need one. There’s lots of beauty and history to see in the area, readily accessible by excellent bus and train connections, all within a 5-10 minute walk from the house and a particular favourite of ours, Hebden Bridge, is easily reached by foot along a delightful canal path within around 45 minutes each way. Lucky was so easy to look after and is the friendliest cat we’ve ever met, very affectionate, very sweet and easily pleased. Her dietary regime was easily followed and she accepted her medication with ease. She was a delight and we were sad to leave her behind as we departed. We miss her sitting on us in the evening , watching the TV with us. Contact was maintained with Jane and Cath throughout our month long sit, our texts replied to almost always immediately. They left very clear instructions for us in their welcome pack and only on a couple of occasions were we stumped to know what to do about something and they got straight back to us with their replies. We heartily recommend applying for sitting duties for them, you’re sure to have a wonderful visit. If we return to the UK in the future, we’d certainly be happy to sit again. Joan & Rodger.
This was a great house sit. Stevie is an absolutely amazing pup. Stevie loves a walk and we loved the routes that he showed us! In the house is is well behaved, and is a cuddle monster. He loves to be close. Whenever we sat on the sofa, he would want to cuddle up. He doesn't like being left at home by himself, so we took him everywhere with us. He was so well behaved and no trouble at all. We loved getting to know him and see his lovely personality come out. The house itself is lovely - a barn conversion with all the amenities you'd need for a comfortable stay. The garden is also lovely - with a super veg patch. The home is close to Minchinhampton common - with all the free range cows and horses you could wish for. We loved running, walking and riding around the area. We'd recommend trying the fish and chips from the Chip Shed in Minchinhampton, as well as trying out a cake or lunch from 'The Kitchen'. We'd definitely recommend this sit to others and would love to return ourselves so we can see Stevie again!

We only had a short sit - but every effort was made to make us very welcome and comfortable - a hot meal on our first night a real bonus. Walking distance to Pangbourne with many places to eat and shop - best cheese shop we have seen outside France. Walking along the river is a joy and there are lots of local places to visit - Near to railway station if you are without a car. Easy and prompt communication and all the information needed to care for the pets and home. We will be very happy to visit again. Thank you steve and suzanne
I contacted Jacquy for a last minute sit and she gladly took me in even though it was my very first sit using Housesitting. She was extremely welcoming and friendly from the beginning till the end. I did not have a car, so she picked me up in a nearby town. I was concerned that it would be difficult to get some groceries without a car, so she kindly offered to use the stuff she had at home. After she returned, she told me there was no rush for me to leave and so I stayed a few extra days and had a lovely time with her and the doggies! Peggy and Nala and extremely well-behaved and super sweet. They adopted me immediately and were very cuddly and provided me with great company. Caring for them is easygoing and straightforward - as long as you like dogs and walking, I am sure you'll have a splendid time! I took the doggies on long walks in the surroundings which they loved and which were a great opportunity for me to explore this beautiful area. I must say, Lamboing and the surroundings are just gorgeous. I would have never come to the area, were not for this dog sit, and I am incredibly grateful I did - it is very calm and green, you see the entire Alp relief in the back, you can go hike up to Mont Sujet or Chasseral and see the entire Alps behind both lakes Biel and Neuchatel or you can walk in the other direction towards the see through beautiful vineyards and cute little villages.
