We were thrilled to be invited to Geraldine and David's beautiful home and stay a few days with their gorgeous animals. The location is one we had been told since we moved to Ireland "You must go there," and now we know why: It's truly stunning. The house is a wonderful, beautifully designed, comfy place to be when the rain comes (and it will!) as well. It's a big place, and it was spotless when we arrived. What a treat!

We loved the house, but the pets were the highlight of our stay. Daisy dog is the sweetest girl. She loved to be near us and would let us know when she wanted to go out, and she ate her pills like a champ. She may have the softest fur of all lab/border collie mixes.

Speaking of soft: big boy kitty Digga is silky, too, and after a day of hiding out, he was super cuddly and social. Teddy slept most of the day and we didn't see him much, but he loved to stretch out by the warmth of the super wood-burning stove while we chatted in the evening. And then there's Elvis. Such a long, skinny, soft, adorable and sweet kitten! There are not enough good adjectives to describe him! We want a kitty just like him for ourselves.

We give this sit ALL the stars possible and can't wait to come back! :)

The house, the neighborhood and the proximity to downtown make for a very relaxing sit. When you are on the deck, it feels like you could be isolated in the woods, knowing town and anything you may need is a stone's throw away.
The dogs are two great pals to spend time with. They love the back yard and like to have you there with them, throwing a toy for Ruby to chase, walking around with them or sitting and petting them. Ruby and Charlie are wonderful!
Joy and Bob were very welcoming. They gave me ample instructions, but encouraged me to enjoy their home and their dear pets.

We had a great time in Denver with Kali and Koda! Grant and Sheryl were very welcoming and their home is lovely. Kali liked to follow us around and keep an eye on us, but only from a distance. On the other hand, Koda is probably the lap-iest lap cat I've ever met :), and he's full of energy. It was fun to watch them play with each other and wrestle over who got to sit in their favorite box. Thank you Grant and Sheryl for the great stay!

For us, this was a fantastic sit.

Having grown up in the general area, Groomsport unexpectedly proved to be a revelation for me. Tracy and Grant have found a piece of Heaven here, and the weather was great which of course helped. The scenery and sense of peace is stunning.

It was a very valued experience for us to share time with Sarge, Thula and Suki. They are such characters; typically Jack Russell, initially feisty they quickly grew to accept and welcome us; and on our part to completely win over our hearts!

They adore human contact – cuddles, doing stuff together, watching the outdoors and occasional walks. They are well disciplined and have their routines which they love – if you forget to give them a dog biscuit after you finish eating you will be rounded up and escorted to the kitchen.

From time to time, you do have to contain their enthusiasm with a strong word and we would recommend this sit only for those who are confident with ‘feisty dogs’ and better to have had some familiarity with the character of the Jack Russell.

Tracy and Grant are just the loveliest of people; fantastically hospitable, empathetic, flexible and great communicators – they really put themselves out to inform, reassure, anticipate and respond to our needs and to make our stay very comfortable. Their house and garden are beautiful with those views over Belfast Lough to the Copeland Islands and beyond.
We would go back anytime whenever possible, without a second thought.

I stayed in Paul and Bob’s home with their dog Ryder for a month and had a wonderful time! Their home is a gorgeous log cabin in a peaceful area with amazing views. It was really a privilege to stay there! Ryder is a very good dog and was easy to care for. Paul and Bob were also incredibly welcoming, very thorough with their directions, and responded quickly to messages. I felt comfortable with them and we became friends. I would highly recommend this house sit to anyone who wants to enjoy a mountain getaway! Thank you Paul and Bob.

I had a great time looking after Flash in Kilmarnock. He is such a sweet-natured dog, and we bonded during wonderful visits to nearby beaches and parks (I would recommend walks on Troon and Irvine beaches and exploring Eglinton Country Park).
Paco the parrot is a source of endless amusement, too.
Liz and Derek were very friendly and welcoming, they were easy to communicate with before, during and after the sit, and their home was very clean and comfortable, with all mod cons.
All in all, a very enjoyable sit.
