This review is long overdue... sorry about that Thomas and Brendan! This being said, I simply loved to sit with Suki and Bluey in Avallon. They are such sweet, loving and cuddly cats. Brendan and Thomas are two caring people, they invited me the evening before for dinner, and they made sure I had everything I needed before they left. Avallon is a picturesque medieval town, yet very lively, where you can find literally everything you could need within walking distance. Brendan and Thomas's house is right in the center, yet in a few minutes walk you reach the beautiful green 'remparts' with amazing views of the Parc naturel du Morvan. The house itself is also amazing, and then there's the garden! But the highlights of this stay where definitely Bluey and Suki. Always around when you're home, always in for a cuddle, and they love a belly to sleep on. I still miss them! Hopefully dates will match again some day. And, it probably goes without saying: I highly recommend this sit.
I had a wonderful time Oakland sitting for Cathy. She was helpful and responsive in the run-up to the sit, sending the Welcome Guide beforehand and arranging a Meet & Greet. She also quickly and graciously responded to texts while she was gone and assured me, when worried, that my actions were right. Cathy's home is new, bright, very clean and super comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and feels very safe; the nights quiet and filled with stars. Oakland is a star! The best trained/well behaved dog! Clearly he is loved and happy. He stayed close throughout my stay. He lay at my feet and gave me a paw when he thought it was time to snuggle - which we did often be cause is just SO SWEET. If you have an opportunity to sit for Cathy, take it. She and Oakland are absolutely delightful.
We felt very welcome at Denise's House. All the animals are really easy going to sit and friendly. The communication was always clear and easy. We had a really good time at the sit! It's a nice area were you can go for long walks. Also the family was so polite and Vegas is still the new best friend from Iro :) Hopefully it will not be our last stay there. Thank you Denise!
We had such a wonderful time with Pete and Justine's dog Louie, in their beautiful Brighton home. Louie is such a fun dog, full of energy and very sweet/warm natured. Once he has his walks, daily meals and a bit of horseplay he's a very happy boy! Pete and Justine's home is in a really handy area, within walking distance to the city, while also having all the essential amenities close by. They really look after their house, it was spotlessly clean and very well organised. They're very nice people, were great at communicating and providing useful info about Louie. All in all, it was a fantastic 1st time experience with THS and we'd definitely recommend their house sit to others. An all round great experience.
