Lexi & Juno are extremely well behaved dogs! Jen and Scott have a great home near Herne Bay so walking the dogs by the beach side made for wonderful walks with the dogs. Would be happy to sit again.
What a lovely spot to relax in the countryside of rural south west France with some 2 adorable Maltese Terriers, Sissy and James! Gerry, Tanya and their son have done wonders to an originally dilapidated French property over some years; definitely a “Labour of love” with some impressive results. I was given a self contained flat at a lower level which had everything I needed including a kitchen area and bathroom. Its glass French doors lead out on to a very private patio area with views across the valley with fields and woodland to the small village in the distance with its one shop and restaurant. As I didn’t have a car, I stayed close to home, walking S & J in the oak wood on the 15 acre property, which was enough for their little legs, and occasionally going further afield along walking paths through woods and along valleys. It was spring at the time and with the fresh, green leaves appearing, dappled with warming sunlight and wild flowers carpeting the valleys, the scenery was really charming. The bigger dog, Buster, had gone on holiday with the family and I think this really gave me a chance to bond with the two little ones, the faithful Sissy, who was never far away on walks or otherwise, and the plucky, characterful James, who was more independent and would often disappear during the twice daily walks, but would return to the house not long after, so I realised I didn’t have to worry. He also stayed close to me during the day and when I did a bit of gardening, but I was instructed to make sure he was safely ensconced for the evening after his dinner - there is a cute if sad background story as to why he came to live with the family, so I must say he particularly warmed my heart. He became very much a lap dog, literally, and loved to sleep on my bed very quietly at night, and Sissy would sleep in her bed close by. I mustn’t forget to mention HeeShee the outdoor cat, very attractive and affectionate once he or she (?) got to know you, but he wasn’t allowed inside, despite his occasional attempts. At the time of my sit there was one hen who regularly produced one egg every second day! Tanya and Gerry were very warm, welcoming and generous, and could easily be contacted. There were neighbours to call on if necessary as well. Lovely as this housesit was in the cooler months of spring, in summer with the pool and the cool interior of the basement space, this would be an ideal location to relax and unwind from it all. However, unless you are happy to stay in the immediate vicinity (as I was) then you would need some form of transport. The nearest station, for example, is a 15-20 min drive away. If you have a car, Lot is full of beauty and interest. A shout out to their friend and neighbour, Jan, who took me to train station early and on time when the family hadn’t arrived back yet. Thanks for everything, and I am certainly missing my little fur (and feathered) friends!
Bella is the most adorable little dog and such a pleasure to care for. She handled some really long walks well and was also so affectionate. She has suh a great personality and was such a little super star.. Browns was totally independent and easily pleased upon being fed on time. Anna and Jason were very hospitable and made me feel exceptionally welcome in their comfortable home. The area surrounding their home is beautiful with great walks. There is also a more than adequate supermarket and bus stop within reasonable walking distance. I have no hesitation in recommending them to any prospective sitter.
We could not have asked for a better house sitting experience. Max and Molly were super chill and receptive to having strangers in their home. It was easy to follow their routine and they clearly knew what to expect. We found ourselves taking many photos of them as they are so funny and darned cute! We did not meet Krista and Kevin in person but Krista was super communicative, responsive and organized. The Welcome Guide was detailed and supplemented with notes around the house re dog care. The house itself is beautiful and was left absolutely spotless. The yard is amazing!!! We really enjoyed our time in Shawnigan Lake.
I had a wonderful time looking after Momo and Bibi at this sit. Angela and Arjan welcomed me the night before they left so we could go through everything and make sure I was comfortable. They have a beautiful home in Kincardine which is very close to the magnificent beach as well as right next door to some amazing trails. The cats have different personalities but are equally sweet. Bibi is shy but was never too far away from me for most of the week. Momo loves to play and don’t be surprised if you are awakened by an ‘attack’ on your feet some mornings. Usually in the evenings they would chase each other all around the house for about 30 minutes. It was very entertaining. I would recommend this sit most definitely.
This is a great house/ petsit the homeowners are wonderful people and there home is verynice and comfortable . The dog Reggie is very friendly and one of our favorite dogs we have cared for . I highly reccommend this sit Dale and Maxine
