I had a wonderful time sitting for Sian and Rhod. They’re lovely people and terrific hosts. Sian picked me up at the train station and made a delicious dinner my first night. As this was my first visit to Wales, I had a lot of questions, and Sian was unerringly gracious and helpful. She also made great recommendations: two of my favorites were Blas Lôn Las, a plentiful farmstand within easy biking distance, and Cwm Idwal, a stunning mountain lake hike a mere half-hour bus ride from home. Right away I fell in love with Macsen. You won’t find a more sweet-natured cat. He and I enjoyed some beautiful sunny mornings together in the garden and some cozy rainy afternoons on the couch. He’s a beautiful, easy-going being. Sian and Rhod have created a very comfortable home, with lots of soft and cozy things. I was given an attic room of my own with a sunrise view. They’ve made a pretty patio and garden that proved a splendid place for sunshine yoga, and when it rained I loved curling up with a cup of tea in a comfy chair in one of the big picture windows. An extra perk was learning to use the steamer to make my morning chai. The location is also perfectly situated for exploring north Wales. It’s close to the coast and Anglesey as well as to the nearer parts of Snowdonia. There’s a lot you can get to on foot and by bus and bike. I spent a month there and feel I only got started. I would love to go back!
I had a great time catsitting Trini and Tommy! They are cuddly, playful and a pleasure to care for. They live in a lovely area close to the Greenwich park and Blackheath village with nice food places and shops. The apartment is super cosy and has big windows overlooking the garden frequently visited by squirrels. Communication with Monica and Sean was great, and they were very helpful on my arrival!
