This is a harder review to leave, but I just want to be upfront about my experience. Devon is really nice and pleasant to speak to, but I had to pester Devon a lot to get information about how the animals/house were doing. This was after a couple periods of unresponsiveness. (I told her I prefer more updates, but I always had to ask.) Toward the end of her stay, though, she was super communicative and inquisitive about making sure she did her part to tidy up (asked about linens/towels). Devon kept our house really clean, but there were signs that she wasn't the only guest in our house, which we hadn't discussed. She said it was just her brother coming to get her on the last day, which is fine, but my instincts tell me that this may not have been the only occurrence (we have neighbors). There was fur all over the couch, which gave away that either she may have been away from the dogs a fair amount, or she just didn't apply/read about the "no dogs on the couch" rule. There was also a light wet mark on the couch. Not a huge deal, but it just felt and looked off from our normal day to day. Lastly, she asked for the code to our gate 3 times when I had already given her that information via text. I even responded to her second text giving her the code again, and a third time in capital letters. She found it on her own at the end, but it was already laid out for her, so it just felt like there was a lack of care/lack of attention to detail. I will say she communicated about my cat's litter box and his food and offered to clean it. She was only here for 2 days, so it can be a bit of a whirlwind to care for 4 animals, so I get that. I just think it wasn't quite the right fit. I still appreciate her help, and over all, the experience wasn't bad. Just not ideal.
Devi and Konrad were absolutely wonderful to work with! From the moment we connected, they were clear communicators, and very genuine, and heartfelt humans who we knew we could trust. When they came over before we left to meet us, our pup Ruby, and get a rundown of our place, we could tell how much love and care they were going to give her. While we were away, we received photos of Ruby every day, and they gave her lots of attention, hikes, and walks, too. Anything they weren't sure of they asked us, and that felt good knowing how much they cared to support Ruby living her best life and our home. When we're in need of a home/petsitter, we will definitely reach out to them first! Thank you Devi and Konrad, we were able to rest easy while we were away at my Dad's memorial knowing that you were taking such pristine care of Ruby, our plants, and our home. We highly recommend both of them. So much love and gratitude! 💕
I've just finished a wonderful sit with Allie-cat at Jess and Anton's. They made everything so easy for me - their home is lovely in a beautiful spot in the hilly hinterland and I felt very safe and comfortable there. Allie-cat was the best companion - I was sad to leave her. Jess kept in touch regularly in case I had any questions and I can recommend house-sitting for them and Allie without any hesitation. A great way to spend some time!
Really enjoyed this stay at Pasha's home. Puca, the 1 year old pup, is well-trained and super fun to take on walks/hikes. I enjoyed feeding the ducks (my first time looking after ducks!) as well, and hanging with Pipit the cat. Communication with Pasha was great, he was quick to answer the few questions I had and is friendly and flexible. The house is comfy and in a gorgeous spot outside Bozeman, and I was able to work from my laptop easily. I would be happy to come back and petsit at Pasha's again!
It was a real pleasure to look after Leo while Roger, Beth and family were away. Communication was great and they were really welcoming and helpful. Leo was a great character and so affectionate - we met lots of friendly people and dogs on Tooting Common and further afield. Other than some very focused squirrel-chasing he was pretty obedient and good and coming back for treats...! He went off to doggy day-care for several days which was great as it gave me some freedom to explore. I loved being back in London and meeting up with old friends, also spending some time with my son and helping out with transport during the train strikes.
Looking after 3 fury ladies - Tuli, Chewa and puppy Scapa was wonderful experience. They are the best behaved dogs we have had experience with. We really admire how well they are trained and even young lab puppy was behaving 100%. Every day with them was incredible and full of fun. Lucy and Malford are incredible hosts, they welcomed us with delicious dinner, we had chance to get know them and we are very grateful for that. The place was so amazing that we didn’t need to go anywhere, we really enjoyed looking after dogs, staying in wonderful environment, whole experience was very pleasant and we would pet sit anytime again. Thank you
John and Portia were incredibly welcoming. John picked us up from the train station, and we all enjoyed a lovely dinner together. Bumper and Ozzy are affectionate and friendly pups. As prior reviews have noted, Bumper is full of energy! We enjoyed taking them on long walks along the river and letting them run around in the park. The house is centrally located in town, an easy walk to the local pub and High Street. It is fairly easy to get to Reading by taxi or bus where you can get trains to Oxford or other nearby places for short day trips. The dogs are ready for their first walk and breakfast pretty early in the morning, but then are happy to stay snuggled up next to you on the couch for as long as you care to hang out with them. Overall, we had a super time during this sit.
We had a wonderful week house sitting for Celia. Leon was easy going, loved playing fetch in the park, and enjoyed lapping up plenty of affection at home. Willow was a lovely cat, who although shy at first, gradually came out of her shell and by the end of the trip was happy to sit on our laps. Celia's apartment had everything we needed and was in a lovely location with the lake, the forest and excellent patisseries close by. We didn't have a car but it wasn't a problem at all as we could walk to the supermarket and take the boat or train into the city of Zurich. I highly recommend housesitting for Celia. Thank you for having us to stay :)
