Beautiful home in a beautiful location! So cool that you can see the water, walk to the beach, or access trails right from the house. Poppy and Junie are sweet, loving girls, fun to adventure with in the woods and on the beach. They are indeed big and strong, so I recommend leashing them using the front loops of their harness so they can't pull you over when they suddenly take off after a deer. Also keep a close eye on them on the beach! Each time I took them there, despite eagle-eyed watching and keeping them on leash the 2nd time, they managed to eat beachy things like fish heads and crab bodies, and then threw them up later in the house :( Uncomfortable for doggy and requires clean-up. Jake the cat is fun to visit with and easy to care for. And the chickens! Well they are a delight - if you like eggs, this is the sit for you! Susan was very welcoming and answered all my questions. We had some small communication challenges around where to put recycling items (she said to just leave them...but I wasn't sure where? So I just took them home with me...) and, for some reason, I really struggled to get their kitchen sink to consistently turn on, but these were minor details. Pro tip: If you adjust the bike seat, only loosen the screw a little bit. I unscrewed it too much and then had to spend an hour piecing the hardware inside the bike stem back together. Lots of grease and frustration, then didn't even end up getting to ride. Our biggest challenge was that the sit dates listed online did not match their actual travel plans, so I had a bit of a shock when they came back a day early. I was stressed because I like to do a thorough cleaning and was looking forward to enjoying the good weather, but instead felt like I needed to spend the last day in a panic racing to clean/trying to vacuum but the vacuum bag was already full and I didn't feel like I had time to change it. Susan was super nice about it and apologized repeatedly and encouraged me to stay. I still left early because it felt weird to be in someone's home when they are no longer away/it changes the dynamic of the agreement (instead of us both doing each other a favor, it becomes them doing me a favor and that makes me uncomfortable). That said, that was a fluke and all in all it was a great sit, highly recommend!! Location/travel note: If you can pack food and get a ride from the ferry, this sit could be done without a car. Even if you do have a car, plan ahead s food/retail options are limited especially outside of high season. I went to the store and they sold me out of date beer -woops. To be fair, Susan did warn me to check expiration dates! I didn't even realize beer could expire, but yep, and it tasted weird :D
We had a wonderfull time at Ursula’s beautifull and cosy house on the countryside! A nice and quiet place where you can relax as much as you want. Karli was funny and even more adorable than our own cat🙃 We got to know Ursula as a really heartwarming hostess; she did everything to make us feel welcome. So, we can absolutely recommand housesitting in Kroatisch Geresdorf!
Watching Ivory was a pleasure and he’s a great companion to go hiking and running with. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Definitely would recommend this house sit!

Lovely cat. Little Suki is 19 years old and very quiet. She eats, sleeps and loves a belly rub. Will come outside a few times a day but not for long. The house and yard are lovely. Quiet, relaxing spot. Comox is an Oceanside community.
