The only thing that wasn't amazing about Anita's house sitting opportunity was having to say goodbye to Jak and Ruby! I totally fell in love with them, both full of charm and personality. Anita's home was lovely to stay in, her hospitality amazing, and the Lota area relaxing and lovely.
Communication with Tim and Wendy was spot on. We had loads of advance information so we found their home without any problems. It is located in the French countryside so this can be tricky! Squeaky and Twiggy adapted and adopted us quickly and we enjoyed their different personalities from day 1. Tim shared in advance "how to" videos on the nuances of the kitties and the house which were really helpful. The town of Lodeve located approx 4kms away had everything you need and more. We were very sorry to leave.
Rick and Eileen were kind hosts prior to and during the sit. They ensured that I was comfortable with their cat’s and home requirements. Rick showed me how to use fire logs to heat the house and Eileen gave a tour of the many trails on their property. Also, I was able to go out frequently and the kitties did okay. I learned much about cats during this sit and enjoyed playing with, petting, and brushing Zeke and Cora. And learning about each cat’s personalities and needs. Piper came on my lap once and was playful a few times. Otherwise Piper was mostly in the Tiny house or outdoor Catio during the days. A lovely home in the woods but close enough to everything.
Alex and Elaina are extremely welcoming! I felt very safe and cared for. Niffo and Lola are lovely to take care of!! Niffo will remind you to have fun, splashing around in the pool playing frisbee or ball. Lola is a sweetheart who loves comfort and rest. The best of both worlds taking care of these two!
Jeff and Melissa were very hospitable. They have a beautiful home in a great location with three wonderful dogs. I would definitely pet and house sit for them again.
Mabel and Stanley were both great, though with different personalities - laid-back and energetic respectively! They enjoyed their walks in the woods, especially enjoying their doggy friends, and slept soundly all night, as did we! Julia's cottage was very comfortable and quiet, and she very kindly gave us a meal the evening before the sit so we could learn about the dogs and the cottage. Communication was excellent too.
