We throughly enjoyed this sit. Nicci is a warm, welcoming and generous person. She is also very through and we spent two evenings and a day together so she could show us the routines. All the notes are printed too so you can’t go wrong and this was much appreciated. We didn’t have the dogs this time so just had 3 horses, 2 chickens and Petal the cat. The horses are fed various mixtures of nuts in a bucket twice a day, once at 8 and again in the evening at 9.30. You also need to be around at midday ish and 4ish in the afternoon to let the horses onto and off the field so there is plenty of time for walks in between or to go visiting the local area. Julipo, Flox and Millie (the horses)were all very well behaved and we loved looking after them. Petal the cat is an absolute poppet. She lives mostly outside. She loved sitting on our laps and and followed us on the rounds with the horses. She was super affectionate, always purring and as we didn’t have the dogs she also come in and sat cuddled up on the sofa with us in the evenings. The chickens were easy and produced eggs daily which was lovely. What else to say? The house was airy and light and great for WFH with a fast internet connection and an office. It was good for cooking too with a well equipped kitchen. We had time for some lovely walks from the house and also in the pretty villages of St Leonard and St Ceneri in the nearby Alpes Mancelles - well worth a visit! Shopping was at Villaines about 5/ 10 mins in the car which Nicci showed us on the first day. There is a local bar restaurant in the village a short drive away where we met up with Nicci’s friends on our first night. Nicci went out of her way to make sure that we felt supported and had plenty of contacts in the area in case of problems.
