It was a stunning 1,5 week in Haarlem, loved every minute. Quiet neighborhood, 10 minutes from the central station, easy to reach supermarkets, cafes, easy-to-cycle all over the surroundings, and the best: Max, the lovely Frenchie. Haarlem is a beautiful city filled with friendly people, it has become our favorite city. Johan and Andra are lovely persons and were exceedingly generous, leaving chocolate upon arrival. It was unnecessary but really appreciated. Max the Frenchie. We fell in love with him. Friendly, active, playful, and easy to get along with, he loved cuddles. We got an easy-followup introduction to how to take care of Max, the communication was smooth all over our sit. The home is modern and beautiful with a yard and a perfect location. It’s convenient to reach other cities by train within 30 minutes. Johan & Andra left their bikes for us to use during our sit, so we cycled for 2 hours each day to see the surroundings. We have loved the opportunity to get to know Johan and Andra, and feel like we have acquired new friends, not just done a house-sit. We would love to come back and highly recommend the sit.
Meeting them and looking after Jasmine was such a great experience! Virginie and Dean are such welcoming people, I felt completely comfortable even before our in-person meeting. They have a cozy home with a fully equipped kitchen, office space, and a balcony that overlooks a great landscape with amazing birds that you can see passing by throughout the day! Had such a great time looking after Jasmine, who warmed up to me fairly quickly. She has her own little schedule to follow and knows when and where she likes to be brushed! After she starts to feel comfortable with you, you’ll be able to see the great active personality she has! I would 100% recommend them as great host to anyone!
I had a lovely time house and dog sitting for Michael. Teddy the schnauzer is the most adorable little guy. He was a very easy little dog to care for with a very sweet nature and funny character. Teddy loves company and was always so thrilled whenever I returned back from being out, but he also just enjoys his own company and can be quite independent. He will happily take himself off to his bed and spend time on his own but was just as happy curling up on the couch beside me in the evenings or during the day. He absolutely loves his daily walks and would get so excited when he saw me putting on my shoes and getting the lead ready. There are some really lovely parks and places to walk within a short distance of Michael's house so we always had lovely places to go and exercise every day. There's even a lovely little coffee caravan on the way to one of the parks and they have dog treats (which Teddy is very much aware of!). Michael's home is beautiful and clean and really comfortable. It's within good walking distance of two train stations with pretty quick and frequent access to central London. Michael is very warm, friendly, and accommodating and had excellent communication with me throughout the process. Highly recommend for other pet sitters :)
Christine is very organized and had written out in a packet all the information about her place and about caring for the cats. I knew exactly what to do and Christine was open with messaging. She had prepared her place perfectly for me in terms of being clean and pleasant. It was helpful that she shared some of her food because I had more time with the cats that way. Bubby and Sissy are sweet and adorable cats. I enjoyed their company. They are super chill and Bubby gets playful and frisky at times. The location is great in St. Louis. Close to everything, and a charming neighborhood.
