I really appreciated that even though Rachelle got COVID the day before our sit, she was still willing to come when she was feeling well enough so I did not need to use expensive local sitters the entire week I was gone. She communicated well and I came home to a happy cat.
Sadie is a sweet little cat, who would sit on my shoes by the front door lol. She is playful and I enjoyed scrunching up receipts and watching her chase them around. Their home is in an excellent location close to the subway and access to everything you need in the city. (Also close to Eataly where there is excellent Italian food!)
Thomas and Angela were extremely friendly and easy-going hosts. Although I only communicated with Thomas by phone, Angela and their children gave me a thorough tour of their charming three-story home. The pet care is simple: all three receive some wet food in the morning and enough dry food to free-feed during the day. Louie and Poppy have three litter boxes, two of which are used consistently. Harley loves to go on walks, but I was told that she only needed one daily walk around the block so as not to strain her hind leg. Otherwise, she is let out onto the lovely, fenced-in patio (pictured) and will let you know when she wants to do her business and when she’s finished. She is a sweet-heart and, happily, enjoys belly rubs. She may either sleep in bed with you or in the main bedroom. Poppy also seeks occasional affection, particularly when you are watching TV on the couch. Louie is more stand-offish and may not emerge from hiding for a while. The house itself is very comfortable and is situated in a quiet and attractive enclave of several houses sharing a large driveway were I was able to park. A car is not necessary, however, since the Metro station in downtown Bethesda is just a mile away (in addition to shops, restaurants, etc.) and bus stops just a block or so from the house. I had an altogether enjoyable and relaxing time!
My husband and I had a wonderful sit here. We got to spend time with a beautiful and sweet dog, Mia. She is so loving and timid. She has a lot of energy and really enjoys going for walks. We let her sleep in her bed at the foot of our bed. She prefers to be in the room with you than by herself in the living room. Since she is so timid it took a while for her to get used to us. Just show her you love her, break out the doggy treats, and all will be well. Laura's home is nice; It has a pool and a big TV. There's also a guest bedroom with a comfortable bed. The neighborhood is great, full of parks. This experience was wonderful for us. Very thankful for the sit!
Barty is a very sweet cat, easy to look after and enjoys being in your company with cuddles on the sofa or doing his own thing. Communication with Rhiannon and Stephen was great beforehand, which meant I had no problems on the sit. We also kept in touch throughout and this helped ensure that everything went well! I would definitely housesit for them again – thank you!
It was a real pleasure to cat sit for Olande. Her apartment is lovely and in a great location. Shops, cafes, and the botanical gardens are all within walking distance. The train station is also nearby which is convenient for exploring the surrounding countryside. Beatrix and Hobbes were a delight to look after. They are rescue cats so were a bit nervous at first, but once they got used to me, they became very affectionate. There are some excellent toys which they enjoyed, particularly Hobbes. Olande was very helpful and straightforward to communicate with. The instruction booklet was clear and gave all the information I needed for my stay. I would definitely recommend cat sitting here!
What a delight this sit was! Cate & Nikki are exceptional women! Gracious and welcoming hosts! Their home is full of love and character! It’s a home where each piece tells a story. The self contained space I was in was comfortable, clean and really spacious! I felt very safe and secure here as well! The neighbourhood is lovely, close to all amenities and the tram is less than a five minute walk. Grocery stores, shops and restaurants are abundant and of course if you need more, Manchester is a 20 minute tram ride away. As much as I loved the space, Nikki and Cate… it was Oscar that stole the show and my heart. He took good care of me, so in turn I spoiled him. He loves a good cuddle and is just as sweet as can be. We developed a kindred relationship and when I went out, he would wait at the window for me to return and would welcome me home at the door once he saw me. I probably could write an entire page on Oscar, truly! It’s going to pull at my heartstrings a little to say so long, but I hope I will get the opportunity to sit again for this amazing family! Thank you Cate and Nikki! It was an absolute gift to be chosen for this sit! Xx
