We had a magical time sitting Jane and John's place. An unbelievably beautiful setting with abundant bird life (including kiwi hoots) and a wonderful garden. We really enjoyed exploring the Kerikeri region and had a relaxing time. Enjoyed the animal husbandry and Mbala the cat is a great companion. We would highly recommend this sit.
The perfect sit! Millie is absolutely delightful, super affectionate, well trained and a pleasure to walk. A lovely home in stunning Ballina countryside with super neighbours for support if required. Thank you Maura for being such a great host and leaving comprehensive notes and a well-provisioned home. Hope to sit for you again
This sit was a completely unique, once in a lifetime experience in a beautiful, Japanese village. I sat between 10th March - May 6th (with a few days pre and post sit to hang out with Tei). During this sit I : chopped firewood, enjoyed daily walks to the nearest town to visit the Onsen, met village locals, viewed cherry blossoms in Ueda Park with locals, ate and drank with locals, painted the mountains from Tei’s deck, spent nights in front of the fire and of course, walked and snuggled with Nona - the sweetest Shiba you could ever meet. She taught me a lot about patience and kept me company for nearly two months. A total sweetheart. Tei is a wonderful person and I feel very fortunate to have met her. The days spent before the sit she foraged and cooked beautiful foods, we drank plum wine and spoke about everything. After the sit, we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and said goodbye to everyone I met during my sit. This time period has a really special place in my heart. It’s not a sit for everyone, the house has it’s quirks. Some people may really struggle walking up and down the mountain to the onsen, or struggle with being in nature. But for me, it was something I cherished. Thank you Tei and Nona, I will see you soon for sure ❤️
Richard and Deb were relaxed and informative around communication (I had phone difficulties and they appeared unperturbed). Their home was a little oasis, not too far from a great a yr f beach- body surfing acceptable! And Sonny was clearly in charge- would let me know what was going on, or if it was time for a bit of attention. And Jazzie was very chilled. Excited to go for a walk at any time & really enjoyed going ‘out’. Both the animals were really relaxing too new with, and I enjoyed my. Time with them a lot. Richard and Deb’s house was really clean and tidy and they made it easy for me to live there. My bed was really comfortable, the plants inside and out were cheerful to be amongst. Thanks for having me at yours, it was a delight!!
Really enjoyed my time at Anne & Phil’s lovely home. They are a generous, warm & welcoming couple whom had clearly taken the time to make my stay more than comfortable. Arrived the night before & Phil cooked us a lovely meal , whilst we shared stories of our travel time away from the U.K. Great cook btw ! Millie was an absolute sweetheart & pleasure to be with! In addition to walking some beautiful local routes we watched many dog videos together & she just loves TV, especially wildlife programmes! Cute, loving & affectionate! There are some cosy pubs within walking distance and delightful Henley-on-Thames is only a 15 minute drive. Communication with Anne & Phil was good throughout my stay and it was nice to have neighbours whom are friendly & close by too.. Look forward to going back in June next year!
We had an amazing time pet sitting for Abigail, both pets were sweet and easy to care for. Merry is affectionate and friendly immediately on meeting and will lean on you and put his head on your lap for petting. We enjoyed walks with him, he’s an extremely well behaved and smart good boy. Pip is a lot of fun as well, mainly to observe as he hops around getting his exercise and sniffing around, a few times he also was comfortable enough for us to pet him gently and we fed him some veggie treats, the way he pounces on the ones he likes is very cute. Abigail is a good communicator and shared a comprehensive document with info/instructions. Her home is centrally located in Ballard and is tidy and comfortable. Definitely recommend this housesit experience!
