Abigail is a lovely person and so polite. She was so kind to our Mitsy and Mitsy loved her cuddles with Abigail. Abigail sent us daily text messages that put our minds at ease as we really missed our girl. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in asking Abigail back to our home
If I could rate Kim higher than 5, I would. From the very start Kim was like a kindred spirit. Her passion for cats and their well being was evident from the moment we first spoke. Our boys, Cheeto and Binx warmed up to her very quickly and by the time we left the house, I was beyond comfortable leaving them in her care. Kim sent us videos every day and I was stunned that at one point she had both cats sitting on her knee. I can tell you, that never happens as Binx isn't one to sit on anyone's knee. Kim was so prepared that when Binx (or as we affectionately call him, Houdini) escaped and managed to scratch his ear in his efforts, Kim had her first aid kit out and fixed him up so well he wasn't even bothered by it. Kim played and cared for them so well, that when she was packing to leave, she sent us a photo of the two boys sitting in her half packed suitcase wanting to go with her! I'm going to have to step up my game! Seriously though, Kim was exceptional and I can't recommend her enough. When we got home our house was immaculate and the boys were healthy and content. Kim even made sure we had milk in the fridge so we could have coffee in the morning. Kim's personality is vivacious and caring and I hope she'll consider sitting for us again. We've not only been blessed with a great pet-sitter but also a new friend.
We had the pleasure of hosting Jolana recently and she went above and beyond to make sure our dog Sawyer was taken care of. A cancelled flight resulted in us returning home a full day later than expected, and Jolana graciously accommodated the change and made sure everything was taken care of until we got home. We really appreciate her flexibility and would be happy to have her back anytime!
We enjoyed our three-week sit at Kirsten and Jason's wonderful home. Escaping Texas summer heat, it felt like an oasis for us to be in such a beautiful setting in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. They welcomed us the day before their departure so that we could see the routines and get to know their pets a little before they left. All the instructions were detailed, clear and easy to follow. It was easy to communicate with them during their vacation and they also introduced us to local family and neighbors in case we needed anything locally. Gordie, the golden retriever, was incredibly friendly and excited to meet us as soon as we arrived. He's a sweet loving, affectionate dog with a lot of youthful energy. We got into a daily routine that entailed either playing fetch in the expansive backyard in the morning and evening, or a taking long walk and then letting him swim in the river in a nearby park, or visiting an off-leash dog park about 10 miles away where he could play with other dogs. We frequently doubled up activities because he really seemed to love it and it also helped burn off some energy. When he was outside on his own, we would check up on him very often to ensure he hadn't wandered off or wasn't digging holes in the beautiful yard and gardens. He loves gathering sticks and amassed quite a collection. In the house, we'd also check in with him frequently when he wasn't lounging to ensure he wasn't chewing on things. At night, he slept very soundly in the bedroom with us and was often still sleepy even after we got up. Walter and Terrance, the two orange tabbies, were incredibly sweet and playful. Walter was very social and would come to us for petting and snuggling, whereas Terrence took a little more coaxing as he seemed a bit skittish. But once he did, you could tell that Terrence loved to be pet just as much as Walter did. Walter was often on the lookout to make an escape but he only got outside once. He went straight to a plant in the front garden and started chewing on it, so it was easy to catch him. Walter and Terrence were active and playful with each other and Gordie would occasionally get in on the fun in a very gentle way. It was fun to watch the three of them playing and hanging out together. During the day, the cats especially loved to sit atop their cat tree in the attached garage watching all the activity in the nearby bird nest. At night, they would sleep in the large laundry room where they had everything they needed (which meant we got a good night's sleep!). We got them a little bird toy that they loved playing with at night. We just had to be sure to put it away in the morning so Gordie wouldn't get it. Kirsten's gardens are absolutely beautiful! It easy to see how much love and dedication she has put into them as there were flowers blooming everywhere. She simplified the watering for us by setting up hoses with drip irrigation and sprinklers for the front and side gardens. She made a map of the zones and it was easy to follow the watering schedule each day by turning on the right hoses, setting a timer and then turning them off when time was up. Occasionally, some of the tips would pop off the drip irrigation but it was easy to find them and put them back on. The back patio had beautiful plants in containers which were easy to hand water by filling up the watering can from the pond that was right there. We had a few hot days and we supplemented the drip irrigation with some hand watering as needed to get through the hot spell. We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery of the gorgeous garden and plants and appreciated all the work that must have gone into planting, growing, and maintaining it all. It truly felt like we were at a resort: the setting was especially magical in the evening with the patio string lights lit and the babbling waterfall cascading from one pond down to another. The three weeks we spent with Gordie, Walter and Terrence in Kirsten's and Jason's beautiful home were a wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend to others and if it's a longer sit, probably best for two people to do together.
