I had a great time watching Solveig! She is a very sweet dog who loves being outside, going for walks and belly rubs! She is quite strong so this is something to keep in mind on walks. She was generally very good for me but I always brought a few treats in case she needed a little extra motivation. This worked well when needed. Johanna and Eric were great to work with as well. They were kind, communicative and very helpful when I had questions. They have a beautiful home and property!
This is one of those PERFECT sits I hoped I would have the privilege to experience when I first started my adventures here. Ellen was so warm and friendly right from the first zoom call, and sent so much helpful information ahead of the sit. The house is even better than the photos, the pool and views stunning. BEST OF ALL Max and Sam are actually the sweetest and best behaved dogs I've ever looked after and it was hard to leave them. Thank you so much again Ellen!
A lovely weekend at Emma's house in the country! The house was comfortable and homely, I felt instantly at home. Doug and Ernie are affectionate dogs and walking them was enjoyable as they know the land and I could just let them do their thing. Highly recommend this sit!
We had a wonderful stay at Marco’s beautiful home caring for Cole. Cole is a sweet old boy whose easy to care for and also nice and cuddly. Our baby was the biggest fan though, the two became pals quickly. Marci was welcoming, communicative, and her house was extremely comfortable and perfectly located for us to visit with family over the holidays. We’d happily stay and see Cole and Marci again!
How did I get so lucky?!?! This sit was incredible from beginning to end. Let’s start with Wesley. He is so adorable and loveable!! He is well behaved at home and on walks (he politely ignored the other dogs when they barked at him). He is obedient to basic commands. Yes, he will try to act all cool and collected when he spots the Geese (something I was informed and prepared for) and try to catch them when you least expect it but it’s nothing that can’t be handled by distracting him with hugs, a jog in the opposite direction, or simply enjoy it with humor. I really enjoyed our walks on the trails close to home and playing catch in the backyard. He kept me company while I worked remotely sleeping quietly with one of his cute plush toys. The best was when he would jump into bed with me and use me as a pillow. There were a million moments when he just stole my heart. How could you not fall in love with him! And Jim, Kathy, and Annie were an amazing and inspiring family!! From the beginning, I felt so welcomed and appreciated. They were kind and humorous which made me feel at ease. Jim helped me through the drive from Los Angeles to Denver as there was a snow storm that impacted my drive. I felt supported and safe with his guidance. I felt so fortunate to get to meet them in person. We shared many interest including the love of travel. They were generous and thoughtful. Kathy left me a kind note checking in on me after the unfortunate mass shooting that happened in a neighboring city. They really made me feel like family. They walked me through the responsibilities and needs to care for Wesley even taking time to show me the trails in the neighborhood. They took the time to connect me with neighbors so I never felt like I didn’t know what to do or who to contact if I needed assistance. They were thorough and available if I did have a question. Oh, and they really encouraged me to get out and explore Denver. Jim left lots of hiking equipment that I could borrow knowing my interest in hiking. But even staying indoors was a treat. They had so much reading material that I really enjoyed time spent in front of the fireplace with Wesley by my side reading about current events to travel destinations. I mean I could write a longer review of how they really went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable in their home. The only unfortunate part was having to say good bye to Wesley, Jim, Kathy and Annie. If you have the opportunity to enjoy Wesley’s company, get to meet an amazing family, and enjoy the serenity of their home, don’t sleep on it and apply!! Thank you so much for letting me care for Wesley and the privilege to get to know you!!
This was my first time using TrustedHousesitters and Jodie and Steve definitely left some huge shoes to fill! Could not have asked for a better experience. The home is beautiful, the dogs were amazing, the area is peaceful and scenic, and the hosts were kind and welcoming.
