I had a wonderful time sitting for Chloe. She is a real sweetheart, very talkative and loves attention. Paul and Tracey were wonderful hosts, showing me everything I needed to know and left me with a nice clean house and an empty refrigerator. The location is only a few blocks from the train station, supermarket, and some cafes. I would recommend this sit anytime.
Eric is a PRINCE! He is the most gentle cat. Sit-related details are as described in the listing, including the tip that, “having a car is an asset.” It is recommended for sitters who want to access nearby parks. We managed without a car (grocery stores, cafés and public transportation connections are within a 20-30 minute walk). Maple Ridge is a car-centric growing suburb, however, so to take full advantage of nature, one needs a vehicle. Thanks Melissa, Ryan and Eric.
Marcia and I recently sold our home, with the objective of finding and moving aboard a nice cruising sailboat, to liveaboard and thence to sail South Florida and the Keys, the Caribbean and if all goes well, the South Pacific. In the meanwhile we are house sitting, which has turned out to be a wonderful and broadening experience. It's really quite special to have the honor and responsibility of living in and taking care of another's home, possessions and pets. Recently I - Jim - had the unique opportunity to sit for Frederic and his wonderful family. It was a treat. This is a special family and a lovely home in Plantation, Florida - a suburb of Fort Lauderdale and in the heart of South Florida. Miami is only about 40 miles away. Frederic's home was attractive, nicely decorated, well-equipped and very pleasant for my one week stay. His two pets - a free ranging cat, and a tortoise - yes, a tortoise - were enjoyable and easy to care for. Frederic left good, complete and easy to follow instructions, and ways to contact him as needed. There was no television, but I found this a pleasant change from the usual cacophony of media. I used my time to read and to do my internet research searching for a sailboat. A lovely, unique and respectable family, and their very pleasant home - with pets that were easy and enjoyable to care for. Their cat has free access to go out and in at her pleasure, and will let you know if she needs a snack or wants to be let outside (although she also has her own cat door). I also had the great pleasure of being able to spend some good time with Frederic and his family, both at the beginning and end of my visit/their vacation. This is very special because house sitting is much more than it seems. It's an opportunity to meet and make the acquaintance of new and good people, to share our different life experiences, and thence to have the great honor and responsibility of taking care of not just a house, but a home. For me, sitting for Frederic and his entourage was a joy and a great honor. In sum, I could not possibly recommend or rate Frederic any more highly. I wish them all well, and I am glad I was able to give them the peace of mind to enjoy a much deserved vacation. I would be pleased to return in the future.
Jake is a really easy going person. Communication with him was clear and everything about the sit was really straightforward. I would consider Archer as one of the easiest dogs to look after. Extremely low maintenance. I would definitely recommend Jake and Archer
Wonderful House/Pet sit! Ben and Carter are by far the cutest duo! Both are sweet, gentle, friendly and super cuddly, so easy to fall in love them!! Brett and Callie were very kind and accommodating to us; the house is amazing in a nice neighborhood with everything close to and a beautiful backyard to spend time outside relaxing! It was a really wonderful experience and hard to say goodbye to those beautiful pups!! Thank you Brett and Callie!!
Simon and Romeo are total sweethearts! Such a pleasure to look after two funny boys - big personalities and expressive communicators too. The apt is super comfortable and beautifully decorated, and everything is functional and easy. The area is super convenient (served by MetroMicro if anyone isn't using a car) and I enjoyed getting to know Glendale better. Clare is responsive and generous with communication and put me at ease if I had any questions about the house or the cats. But honestly a simple and carefree sit with gorgeous guys! Would recommend and would sit again!
