Wow, what a dream staying at Carey's place with Banana and Kiwi has been. I feel so lucky to have found this beautiful place and have met these little stinkers. Banana and Kiwi are so sweet and easy to care for. They both enjoy co-working with me, 5-10 pets and then they need some space, and are just very good cats. Carey's house is so beautiful and has such a nice energy - and Carey was so kind, accommodating and easy to communicate with! It's less than 5 minutes to a national preserve where you've got tons of waterfalls, hiking trails and a lake to explore. If you can make it here for a catsit, don't miss it!
We just completed a fulfilling 1 week sit taking care of the wise, old George and the young, full of energy Darla. The dogs were so pleasant and accepting of us as sitters. We did lots of long walks in the woods and neighborhood. The house is very comfortable with a spacious kitchen, wood burning stove and comfy sofa to sit and watch the snow fall. Jeanne and Chris gave us a great walk-through of everything that needed to be done while gone, considering it was full on winter. We did use the snow blower a few times and cleared off the roof of snow. Boy did we sleep well those nights. We stayed in touch daily via WhatsApp- sending pics just to let Jeanne and Chris know all was well. It was just what we were looking for- quiet, snow, warm house, lovely hosts, and fabulous dogs. Highly recommend.
This was a great first sit to have on the Trusted Housesitters site. I did the sit with my partner Carla. Susan and Danny made things easy picking us up at the train station and arranging dinner together when we first arrived so we all had time to get to know each better before they left for their 2+ week holiday. Their apartment is beautiful overlooking the harbor and sea. The cats, Winnie and Rosie, were a bit shy the first couple of days but soon came out of their shells. They were fun to play with with all the cat toys they have and easy to care for. We got to discover La Manga on bicycle which is a beautiful area (when the winds aren’t blowing too hard :) I would definitely recommend this house sit to others and happy to do it again in the future if the timing worked.
One of our favorite sits ever! Patricia & Peter are such caring, conscientious pet parents and considerate hosts. They were understanding and flexible about our arrival and departure times. Patricia wrote super-thorough instructions AND personally showed us all kinds of helpful details on how to best care for the cats and enjoy their charming home. And boy did we! We loved getting to know Earl & Buddy, 2 delightful cats with spunky, fun, sweet personalities and a great relationship with each other. We'd be happy to sit with them again anytime. The house too has a lot of warm, homey character and substance, and is convenient walkable distance to the NJ transit train to the city. Thanks so much, Patricia, Peter, Earl & Buddy. You truly are a wonderful family and we hope to see you all again soon!
As first time hosts, Courtney and Dante nailed it! What a nice couple! The listing and photos are accurate. Welcome guide was very detailed, so I didn't have any surprises. And they know that this is an equal exchange and are appreciative. I wish every host was like this. Gadget is the perfect companion. She's sweet as can be, loves to play and go for walks, and is happy to cuddle up for a bit of tv watching. Spodey required minimal (but important) care. I was very comfortable in Courtney and Dante's home. I had everything I needed. I'd love to come back. Fort Collins is a really great Colorado town, and "Totally 80's Pizza" is the best!
It was an absolute pleasure taking care of Pete Bean, Pickle and Sausage. Joe and Carrera were so kind in all of their communication and their willingness to share their home and their beautiful animals. We would house sit for them again in a heart beat!
