If you are looking for a relaxing sit in a fantastic location then this is it. The house sits within its own amazing garden. The local village has great amenities and the locals are very helpful and friendly. The Cotswolds has so much to offer along with the very enjoyable local walks, making this a truly relaxing experience. Rupert and Cynthia had already left for Australia on the day of our arrival, so the handover was done by their daughter Emily, she did a great job making sure to show and explain everything we need to know about the house whilst Rupert and Cynthia were away. We made sure to keep Rupert updated on a regular basis and he was always on hand should we have any additional questions. A great sit and would recommend for anyone interested in just looking a home.
We really enjoyed our stay with Stevie. She is such a lovely, friendly dog. It was great fun to take her on walks - she’s sensible, clever and has great bouncy energy. She shows lots of excitement for her tug toys, and playing games with her in the garden was great. She’s also very relaxed in the house, and the sofa cuddles with her were so nice. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and Sonya and Aaron made us feel welcome. The location was ideal, as it was easy to get to the city centre, and also enjoy the local walks and parks. Thanks again for having us stay - it made our time in Hobart so special, and is a brilliant memory for us.

Pebble and Minnow are two lovely spaniels who happily greeted us at their home and ensured a fabulous sit in such a beautiful, spacious and comfortable home. The woodland and riverside setting was quite magical. We were more than happy to also look after Roxy, a gentle black Labrador owned by Penny and Aly’s daughter. All three dogs were happy to spend time with us and each other and were very easy to manage during twice daily walks. They then settled quietly at night. This sit was perfect for us and suits anyone who enjoys nature and tranquility. Thank you Penny and Aly, we would love to return again.

Luna and I LOVE the Pet Playhouse!! We’d had an AWFUL experience at another local daycare/boarding facility and then that owner followed up with even worse customer care. But Pet Playhouse is EVERYTHING we were looking for!! Reasonable rates, caring staff who are the same from visit to visit-which gives us both comfort, friendly, warm and consistent communication. This is the place to go if your pet, like mine, is your bestie and deserves the best when you can’t be together!!
My pup literally jumps for joy when she figures out that she's on her way to daycare at Pet Play House. The staff are kind and professional. They often greet my pup by name when we drop in and sometimes send a report card home at the end of the day. I love finding out which friends my dog played with and what enrichment activities she enjoyed. I only wish I got a report card every time! Our experience with boarding has been positive, too. I'm really grateful that I found this place for my dog to socialize and play.
We love sending our boy to doggy daycare and boarding here. They treat him like one of their own and we love the activity sheets that we get everyday. They always have fun events planned for the dogs and Beau always comes home happy and tired!
Our fur babies, Gracie and Gibson love going to the Pet Playhouse for play time and boarding. They get plenty of love and attention and enjoy playing with their fur friends. (They are generally "worn out" when they come home). Always a sign that they had a good time!
He’s been here a few times for day visits and always has fun - even to the point that we’ve dropped him off soley for him to play because he gets excited when we head in. Last night was his first overnight (he has a big anxiety issue whenever he’s not in direct sight of a human for some reason). This anxiety has been an issue as we couldn’t find someone local we trusted to overnight him without trying to lock him in a kennel - which he doesn’t do. We picked him up this morning with his tail wagging and excited to be playing - tells us he had fun and was excited to play again in the morning. 100% recommend this place to care for your pup(s).
If u are boarding your dogs or even leaving them for day care please be aware of this spot. We left both of our dogs here for boarding from 6/12/2024-6/15/2024 on pick up day my dog had noticeable scratch on her nose that wasn’t there when we dropped her off!! They simply said “ we don’t know how she got it?” And then both of my dogs came back with a strong coughing/gagging..have taken them to the vet is diagnosed with kennel cough!! Mind you both dogs are up to date on their vaccines!!! Called pet play house and the only thing they could tell me is “oh well we didn’t see anything weird.” Like what’s that supposed to mean?? OBVIOUSLY there was a dog(s) there that were sick OR they did not disinfect the room properly!!!! Now because of their negligence my poor dogs are sick and I’m making an extra unexpected expense.
This business is wonderful. The staff is friendly and caring towards the animals in their care. They are easy to work with and the website is easy. I'm so pleased that our Bella is happy to go and tired when she returns. I'm impressed with the little report cards my pet comes home with. It's cute. I also am impressed with the services they offer. Thank you all for care you give our girl while in your care.
My fur baby absolutely loves going to “school”. That’s really all I need to know. Every time we exit the freeway onto 4th street she knows exactly where we’re going, and she can’t get out of the car fast enough when we park. Also, I love love love all the cute parties they do around holidays. They cost extra but I’ve always been pleased with what we get out of it. I can tell the girls who work there like the dogs and they seem to know them personally. Another big positive is they have the dogs wear Velcro collars for safety. They are very picky about vaccines, which I appreciate. We love Pet Play House!
July 2020: First review about this place and I may have updates: It is our Beagle's second day here. Our dog has some anxiety/fear toward strangers (he is fine with dogs) and he's going through regular behavior training with Bark Busters (another great company). Before we moved to Reno, NV, we had paid a visit to Pet Play House and explained the situation to them. We travel a lot and need a safe/friendly place where the dog eventually feels comfortable just like where he used to go before we moved to Reno. The entire place seems well maintained including their overnight boarding areas, pet play areas, and common areas. The lobby is inviting, and the staff seems friendly. On my dog's first day there, he was obviously nervous, everything is new to him including the house, surroundings, people, and the daycare. He did bark a bit but it looks like the staff took it slow and eased him into the whole strenuous experience. We took a break next day and took him back there again and he jumped out of the car eager to go in and make friends again. The second time we took him there was better - he greeted the friendly girl who he met last time and it seems to be going okay. To most people, this review will be overly informative, but to those with dogs that are fearful/anxious, let me tell you know incredibly important it is to have such an establishment around. It is a sure shot way to continue to socialize them and tire them out. I continue to look forward to making our pet a part of your amazing play house. My wife and I are forever grateful to you and your staff already :) UPDATED JULY, 2024: This place is still going strong.
Everyone was very kind upon our arrival. My dog seemed very happy when I picked him up and this is the first time he has eaten all his food while being boarded, which is an indicator that he was happy at his temporary home. Furthermore, Pet Play House was very accommodating when the snow storm made us a day late picking up our dog. We will definitely use Pet Play House again for our next boarding session.
It’s apparent that entire team at Sugarland Ranch is attentive to every dog’s needs, as they’re super passionate about caring for furry ones! They’re extremely thorough with their check in process, ensuring that they have all the details and supplies they need to love your pup while you’re away. The space itself is clean, organized, and decorated with so many cute photos of rescues and other visitors! I love their “suites” and how the doggies have safe access to the outdoors. I also appreciate that they give the dogs play time outside in their enormous, fenced-in yard. Scheduling is easy and they’re very communicative about dates that fill up quickly. I appreciate how quickly they respond, too!
My Frenchie babies had an amazing time at Sugarland Ranch. The couple who own/run things are truly amazing people. They have so much experience with the animals. The property is beautiful, everything is organized. My husband and I went away for a week without a care. Your dogs will be in good hands here, they do a terrific job!!!
A hidden gem of a dog kennel! We have three energetic animals that we typically do not kennel as it’s just so expensive, which makes it difficult for us to travel together without dogs. SugarLand was a find like no other! Mac, Robyn, and Philip are knowledgeable, cool and collected, and helped relieve us of any concerns we had about the care of our animals. There spot up in the hills outside of Reno was temperate and familiar to our home locale, with lots of space for the dogs to play! Even when I called from Costa Rica to check in, Philip spoke positively and lovingly about all three very different dog personalities and reassured us that they were all doing great. We would absolutely bring our dogs back to SugarLand!
Mack, Robyn, and Phillip are amazing. We have boarded there a few times and have zero worries about the care our animals receive. From our shorthairs running through their runs multiple times a day to find birds and squirrels to them putting the bulldogs near the A/C, they think of everything to ensure your pet has a safe and wonderful boarding experience in a normally stressful situation. The freshly cooked chicken Robyn does in the kitchen surely catches the heart of all the pups they are responsible for.
Pre boarding visit. VERY impressed! The dogs there seemed happy and well cared for. I met with Mack and Phillip who seemed to be like me...caring but no nonsense. I loved the family only exposure as 2 of my 3 get "kennel cough" at the drop of a hat. Most places claim this is 'inevitable' which is a cop out. This place makes no such ridiculous statements. Need to call well ahead of the time you need though! They get booked quick because they are so good!
We've been taking our 'kids' here for years. Mac, Robin and Phillip are wonderful. Our dogs always seem comfortable when they get there, not pulling back to try to go back to the car. They don't smell like a kennel when we pick them up so I know the kennel is well kept. I recommend them to anyone who needs to board their dogs.
I am so incredibly happy with this place. It is very close to my home, friendly and experienced staff, they also live on site which makes me comfortable. I took a short tour of the facility so I was able to view where my fur kids would be staying and playing. I like that the owner Mack was very thorough and trusting in his routine for my dogs. I have two German Shepherds, I was able to call at any time to check up on my dogs, being that it was their first time I was extremely concerned. I love that I was not required to take food, toys or treats (even though i did), they actually use the same 'no grain' food that we do from costco (salmon). Mack was such a great host and loved our pets so much as if they belonged to him. Mack and his wife are very proud and dedicated to their job and I will continue to be a customer. Thank you for taking such good care of my fur children, they came back in great health and spirits!
Love this place! The people at Sugarland Ranch are the best in Reno. They let me tour the facility before I boarded my dogs and gave me the details of all of their services. Baked chicken and rice is free, they are taken out for multiple play sessions everyday, and they try to keep a 8:1 dog to staff ratio-- so you know your pets are getting the attention they deserve. Best of all, for three dogs it's only $60 a day. No one in Reno can beat that.
We left our 5 month old puppies there this past weekend! First boarding experience and I can't say enough nice things about the facility and the staff. The facility is really clean and organized and the staff made us feel comfortable about leaving the puppies and they let them stay together which was extremely important. Looking forward to our next trip now that I have a safe place for our fur babies!!! 5 star for sure!!!
Very easy to work with. The two owners are very nice and really care about dogs. There are several large outdoor areas for exercise as well as indoor area for sleeping. It is about 30 min North of downtown. Check out time is 11 am before additional late fees will apply. Had a great stay and our two dogs seemed to have good time.
I have boarded my dogs here 3 times. The staff was always helpful and efficient checking us in and out. My dogs always had a great time and would come back nice and tired.
I am so excited to find this awesome doggy daycare and boarding. We live in Elko but had to come to Reno for a Dr's appointment. My golden retrievers need an extra special place. A nice place to sleep at night and a play area that is not packed with dogs with nothing to do. They have a pool, enrichment activities, and some extra special spoiling.🩷 I talked to Kayla several times before we went there. She is so kind, funny, and knowledgeable. When we checked in. I immediately knew that the dogs would be ok. Bobby was so calm and nice, despite my dogs being a bit crazy. They had just lost their older sister. They were sad that she got her wings and they had to say goodbye. Amber always made them feel calm in new situations. The Resort sent me pictures and let me know how they were doing. Riley and Rosie give them 10 paws. I highly recommend Spanish Springs Pet Resort. We sure wish that we lived closer. They would go they a lot. Thank you Spanish Springs Pet Resort. 🩷🐾🩷
This is a great facility, and the staff are very responsive and helpful. We took our 4.5 year old boy in for boarding for 7 days. We were nervous, but the staff sent photos and updates on how he was doing while we were away. It really did seem like our pup had a great time there, and we will be taking him in for future daycare/play days as well as boarding when needed. I highly recommend this facility for anyone with a social dog, with high energy. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Spanish Springs did a fantastic job! My wife and I were out of town for a month and they took care of our fish for us. Halfway through the trip we needed someone to come back to our home to take care of something for us, and they made it happen. We worked with Kayla from start to finish, and she was friendly, helpful and an absolute pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY recommend these folks.
Really enjoyed taking my pup to them. She seemed happy there vs being stuck at home all day while I worked. The people are nice too. Unfortunately with the recent price increases I can no longer afford to take my pup, but otherwise, I recommend them.
We love the Spanish Springs Pet Resort. No one takes better care of our pet family better than them! Check-out the pool and chaise lounges that are all for our dogs. The staff is fabulous and take their job seriously. They are on top of it! I love the resort aspect of the property. Shade, in-ground, shallow pool to keep the pets cool. They also offer boarding and bathing! Truly exceptional and we are so grateful for how they love our pets!
We've been coming here for over 6 months and my pup has a great time whenever we visit. He comes home happy & tired! The staff is super friendly and knows him by name. Today I received photos/videos of him playing a fun activity they set up for him. I highly recommend Spanish Springs Pet Resort!
I hate leaving my dog when we go out of town, however Spanish Springs Pet Resort has taken exceptional care of my dog. Everyone knows her and state that they really enjoy taking care of her. Their reputation was the reason I picked them several years ago and they have lived up to it.
What a wonderful time our puppies had! They had so much room to run and play. Humans who really care about our fur babies.
They got my dog in same day I made an account, gave them a call and got everything situated and 20 minutes later I was dropping off my very lovable little Houdini who couldn't be left home alone for daycare. They were an absolute life saver. Both the gentleman I spoke with on the phone and the woman I met at the desk were absolutely lovely. My dog came home very happy and very tired which was great seeing as I was equally tired after work. $27 for a full day of daycare is also a great price given I need someone to watch him for 10 or so hours of the day while I'm at work. I'll soon be getting a crate he won't be able to pop out of so I don't have to spend quite so much every week but I will absolutely be keeping these guys in mind for any trips I take or days I wanna let my boy tire himself out while I run errands.

My dog Zola has been going there since she was a puppy. It was amazing for socializing when I was at work. Charlie’s place and the staff took amazing care of the pups, showing them love and affection throughout each of her stays. I would look at the cameras every now and then and see Zola safe, and I love that they offer that. I’ve also had Zola groomed while at daycare, and she loved it. Thank you Charlies place and staff for being so good to our babies. 11/10 recommend!
My 5yo mini schnauzer Buster has been going to Charlie’s Place at least once per week since he was 4 months old. He still gets to have his snack and a little rest by himself mid-day. He loves going there and is well cared for. As a single dog-mom it’s a relief to know he is happy and in good hands! The staff at Charlie’s are the only humans he likes other than family! Highly recommend Charlies Place!
Rudy loves Charlie’s place! I’m a working single dog mom in the healthcare industry and Charlie’s Place has been such a blessing for me. The staff know every dog by heart, and they treat Rudy with so much love every time they see him. Rudy has been coming here since he was seven months. He used to have so much puppy energy when I got home from work, and I would feel guilty about not having hours to play with him. When he gets dropped off at Charlie’s place he’s had a full day, and is ready to relax with me on the couch. Here’s a picture from one of his first days getting picked up. He was sleeping in my arms by the time we got to the car. (If you’ve ever had a puppy, this feels amazing after a full day of work). On top of this staff are wonderful, friendly, and easy going to work with. I also like that they have later hours because I don’t get out of work until 6pm. Overall fantastic company, they truly love dogs, and are very professional to work with. I always feel comfortable dropping him off, and I love knowing that he’s having a good day while I’m at work.
We’ve been going to Charlie’s Place for abouth a month now, and both me and my pup love this place. Every employee seems to truly enjoy what they are doing. I would go to pick up/dropnoff my dog and employees I have never seen before would greet you with a smile and already know my pup. It’s that engagement level between the employees and their furry customers that makes me the happiest. Miller (pictured post day care) is always tired and happy when I pick him up and we couldn’t recommend Charlie’s Place more
Everyone working here was super nice. The facility was clean and all the dogs seemed happy to be running around together. Didn't work out for my pup due to the external fences. But would definitely recommend for smaller dogs!
My dog loves it. London looks so forward to going to Charlie’s Place because she gets to play with other dogs and they take very good care of her. The staff is so friendly and strive to look out for each and every dog in their care. Not only would I recommend Charlie’s Place but I’m so envious of the fun London has that I’m tempted to dress up in a dog suit and join her. I’d also add that their boarding services are top notch. Trust London. Your dog wants to hang out at Charlie’s Place!
Mr. Archer loves Charlie’s Place and all of the staff that takes care of him while he is there. The staff is always friendly. They greet you when you arrive and acknowledged you as you leave. More importantly they always send a warm reminder when you pup is due for required vaccinations. I highly recommend anyone give them a visit.
Just like choosing a day care for our kiddos, we vetted the heck out of Charlie's Place...so I will just add this review to the mounds of positive reviews they have already recieved over the years. We have been entrusting CP since we rescued our bloodhound, Bertha, 3 years ago. On average, we send her 4x/month for a full day to get her beans out and to socialize. We also use CP for overnight stays. We have had no concerns or negative experiences. They know her well, know her cues, know her personality and preferences. On top, their groomer has been great at cleaning her LONG stinky ears. We will continue to use CP, as we trust their business, their employees and the care they provide to our Bertie, leaving us with no worries, just confidence. Thank you Charlie's Place.
Just started with Charlie's Place and have been so impressed with the staff and environment! The staff knew who's mom I was since day one and are very quick during pick up and drop off, and are super nice and accommodating. The cameras are an awesome touch too I love peeking in to see my pup play and frolic and he comes home absolutely wiped ready to sleep! Perfect for work days and very reasonably priced. So glad to have found this place for my husky pit!!
Charlies place is the best Kennel we have ever been to and we have had dogs for 18 years. Our Basset Hound Hanna has been playing there since she was 6 months old. The staff is wonderful and our girl is always so excited to go see her "friends". We use both the daycare and boarding and wouldn't take our fur baby anywhere else :-)
So disappointed in this place. I made the mistake in trusting Urban Hound to take care of our 7 pound girl while on vacation. We received a call 5 days into her stay saying to pick her up immediately do to lice that she obviously must have picked up from there. After cutting our vacation short to rush home I had brief encounter with the owner who was extremely rude. If you're looking for a safe comfortable place for your pet while you're away, Look elsewhere!!!
After going to a couple of places for day care I decided Urban Hound was the perfect place for my little one (Mila). We had a not so great experience elsewhere where I felt like she was not looked after, but when I went to pick her up from Urban Hound for the first time they mentioned some things she did that she also does at home which made me feel a lot more comfortable about bringing her. I’ve also utilized the grooming services and it is so convenient to be able to take her for daycare and have her ready when I pick her up. Staff members are always friendly and welcoming and refer to her by her name. Whenever we go she’s excited and I trust they take good care of her.
My pup Chip loves coming here! The staff always greets us by name when we arrive and they are always excited to see us! They take great care of him even during overnight stays, I alwys feel safe leaving him here. Prices are affordable, place is clean, and the staff is all so friendly!

Great place for dogs to have play day or board. My dog has a health issue, and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. Everyone is very friendly and you can tell they enjoy their jobs.
Our dogs (Kenzo and Freya) have been going to Urban Hound since they were pups. The dogs are so excited to see everyone when we drop them off. The whole staff takes such good care of them. Heather, the owner, is awesome.
My dog was going to Urban Hound and became extremely sick and hadn't been there in over a month. The team welcomed him back while giving him the attention he needs as he continues to recover. Great people there that seem to care!
This is one of the best doggy daycare experiences we have had. Our dog Folsom loves to go & howls the second we get in the parking lot. He has so much fun and doesn’t look trashed when we take him home. They give him play breaks & always say his name when he comes through the door. If you are in the area, it’s a must. They will take good care of your pups.

They really went above and beyond to make sure my girl had a safe and comfortable place to stay while we were on vacation. The owner isnt afraid to go the extra mile to accommodate our needs and it was so appreciated. Our girl always comes back to us so happy and so tired. I can always tell she was taken care of well becuase she is content and not anxiety ridden. We have booked with Urban Hound twice now and look forward to booking many more times. The prices are also great. Definitely reccomend Urban Hound for all our boarding needs.
I’m a first time customer of On Command. We brought our two Portuguese Water dogs in for grooming. The staff was welcoming and kind. The place was spotless and didn’t smell of dog like so many other facilities do. They did exactly what I asked of them. My pups came out beautifully groomed. It was obvious they put a lot of time and effort into making my dogs look and feel fabulous. They seemed relaxed and not overly stressed by the experience. I feel confident giving On Command 5 stars and will refer others to the business.
Our first time using On Command for grooming of our 10-lb Maltese. It went great. Lovely outcome and Mia was handled beautifully.
On Command was fantastic both in outstanding customer service and knowledgeable/skilled groomer. It exceeded my expectations by far. And, my 9 1/2 month border collie looked beautiful. I cannot express enough how thrilled I am with On Command 2! They truly worked wonders with our beloved doodle Bentley and gave him the perfect haircut. The grooming facility itself was immaculate. From the reception area to the grooming stations, everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff displayed exceptional customer service. Had my pup there for about 8 days while I was out of town. The staff there was extremely helpful and looked out for my pup. When I returned, they gave my pup a bath (little extra to do that but worth it) and he looked very happy. They let me know that he was very well taken care of, ate all of his food as well as getting plenty of belly rubs from the staff! Could not be happier with how they watched him and took care of him. Will definitely do it again when I go out of town!
I LOVE On Command. Every staff member is kind and loving. I have taken my 8lb yorkie mix, Simone, to other dog boarding places in the past and she would hide in the back of the car every time we pulled into the parking lot. At On Command she jumps in my lap and cant wait to get out of the car! It gives me so much peace knowing she is happy and loved there! I have had her groomed at On Command as it is so convenient and she always looks great. Thank you CeCe, Nicole and the entire OnCommand Team!!!
I took my little Yorky who's only about four months old to On command to be groomed for her first grooming. They were wonderful. Treated her very gently and knew how to get her to be still to groom her. I was very very impressed with everybody there and would highly recommend them.
On Command is so kind. We just moved near one of their locations, and have been trying to find a good grooming spot. We called and they squished us in for a nail trim without a worry. Then we set up his online profile and a groomer created an appointment for him- which I thought was today. Turns out it’s next week, and they still put in the effort to give him a good nail trim before our actual grooming session next week.
Thoroughly impressed with this business. They treated our puppies like family. The process was easy and even did a last minute accommodation for grooming with our puppies overnight stay. The cost was very reasonable. We will be using them every time we come to town now! THANK YOU!!!
Hi, my name is Monica, I just want to share how AMAZING! On command is. My dog name is Apollo, him and I we were having a hard time finding something who new how to treat him right and had a Little bit of patience with him, long store short I call and talk to them about how my dog was so scared of anyone cut his nails, bath….. They explain me that is very important to them that any dog feels comfortable, so I took him for the first time 3 months ago, today was his 2nd time and all I can say is how thankful I’m with Isabel and Kylie. They are Amazing. My dog comes out happy. I definitely recommend them a 💯 to anyone that has dogs. Best in Reno.
