April Joy did an incredible job caring for Rue. Communication was seamless, and Rue was kept well fed and exercised. Would highly recommend for future sits, and would love to have her back in Oakland again to watch Rue.

Kristy

The most important attribute is how well a sitter cares for my dog. Kristy took great care of Lily. She was happy, clean, content and I don't think she missed me. That is good!. Lily is a senior dog and Kristy was in tune to her ups and downs (she can be very lazy and also quite chipper at different times). She communicated well with updates while I was away and I'd welcome her back any time. I needed to do some cleaning of the floors and surfaces but different sitters have different cleaning standards and I am ok with that.

Camille and Lyra shine above the rest. They are easy going and reliable, tidy and kind. They sent photos of the dogs and checked in just enough. They are really great and I would be thrilled to have them back again anytime. This was a repeat sit and I hope to have them back for a third time! You’d be lucky to have them care for pets in your home. Thank you Camille and Lyra!!

Bibi and our cat, Scooter, have a special fondness for each other which is comforting to observe when one has to leave a well-loved, aging a bit, but still quite high on the personality scale cat! Everything in the house was well cared for, too.

Lucy

Lucy and Alex were fantastic sitters for our fur family! From our very first interaction with them while interviewing applicants, we were struck by their kind and calm presence, attention to detail, and clear love for all animal beings. While we were away, Lucy and Alex made sure that all of the furs got plenty of love and attention. They took the pups to the dog beach several times, engaged them with enrichment activities throughout the sit, and even took them along to dinner on the last evening of the sit. And, they were very communicative throughout the entire sit. We received photo / video updates from around the house and various outings. And when something unexpected happened (Levi left some of his breakfast uneaten), they readily texted to ask what they should do. When we returned home (at midnight, after flight delays), we found a spotlessly cleaned house, guest room sheets and towels laundered, and four fur babies who were happy to see us. We would absolutely welcome Lucy and Alex to sit for our fur family again!

Samantha and I did a video call which I really appreciated before the sit. She was very responsible, eager to help out and did such a fantastic job with my cat. I highly recommend her.

Ashley is the BEST. Kind, responsible, responsive. Not a need to worry about anything when she has stayed with Murphy. The BEST!!!

We were SO lucky to have secured Susan to come and care for our dog, Tinsley! She is kind, personable, conscientious, and an obvious pet lover. When our departing flight changed, Even though it impacted her remote work schedule, Susan kindly accommodated that change by arriving earlier in the day than originally planned. That was so appreciated. We had ample time to go over Tinsley's routine and the workings of the house. Susan asked great questions and we left feeling totally comfortable that she was the person caring for our dog. There needed to be a hand-off of Tinsley to a friend for a few hours at the end of Susan's time at our house, and communication there went seamlessly. Susan was in touch confiming details before the sit, and communication during and even afterwards was excellent. We received much-appreciated updates and photos during our time away. We returned to an immaculate house with everything in order, and truly appreciated that. Best of all, Tinsley remained in her daily routine with loving and excellent care. She is always our priority. Pet owners would be beyond fortunate to have Susan come to care for their pets. We felt like we won the pet sitter lottery! We hope that Susan might be able to return someday, but fear that we will be competing with others who have experienced not only a great pet sitter, but a wonderful person!

Susy took wonderful care of my dog Cali, my home and my garden. I would be delighted to have her return and would give her six stars if I could! Cali was happy and healthy when I returned home. Susy gave Cali affection and walked her in the stroller to the dog park 1/2 mile away. Susy was conscientious about giving Cali her daily medications. I also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Susy. She sent photographs and updates that made me smile. A neighbor at the dog park commented when I returned that Susy had taken excellent care of Cali. I highly recommend Susy!

Ellie was wonderful, clean, communicative and kind. Grateful for her last minute stay with Indy!

Kristie

Overall we came back to a clean home and Nemo was healthy and in good spirits. Unfortunately, we had a communication issue just before the sit began. Kristie has a very serious boundary against sending pictures everyday because it feels like micromanagement to her. We did not find out about this boundary until the day before we left, and she suggested we find a new sitter in the next day if we could not respect it. I found her communication style to be anxiety-provoking and unnecessarily curt. We continued with the sit because we had limited time to make new plans, and trusted that she would keep him safe and healthy, which she did. She reported back two instances of Nemo hissing at her, which was unsettling because we’ve never seen him hiss at anyone at all. Overall I’m not sure that we were the most compatible pairing for a housesit. I think we both agree that a pre-interview might have helped us realize the incompatibility. We wish her well and trust her intentions with pet care.

When I joined Trusted House Sitters, I expected, and hoped the experience would be a win, win for all involved. 
From my initial communication with Margie via the T H S website, to  our goodbye hugs, this house sit has been the most joyous and positive experience possible. Margie and Arthur's home has such a warm, inviting feel, and I immediately felt welcomed, especially as their fur baby, Holly, met me at the front door!  Margie left recommendations for local attractions and coffee shops etc, and while I did venture out on two occasions, I was just as happy staying with Holly, and taking in  the serenity of my surrounds.  I was left with clear instructions on Hollys feed and exercise routines, as well as watering of pot plants and the lovely garden. My room was gorgeous and I slept like a baby. 
I would highly recommend Margie and Arthurs home, with the adorable Holly. 
I also highly recommend Margie's sultana cake! 
I feel I have made three new friends, two of the human variety and of course, Holly!

We loved our week looking after the adorable Chancey in his lovely home. Chancey was so easy to care for and is a friendly, calm little dog. Resa and Sam have a beautiful home and garden, in a great area, surrounded by lovely walks and drives.

This was my first Housesit and it was great. The cats Malcom and Tilda were so lovely to take care of, loved morning cuddles with Tilda. Chloe & Isaac’s home is so stunning too and with great local parks and amenities. I met them both before the sit and they were so friendly and welcoming. I had a blast caring for Hannah during this sit. Hannah is the sweetest little lady and she is so well trained. Rachel made sure everything was ready for me to care for Hannah and provided all the info I needed to have the sit go smoothly. Her house is beautiful and Hannah is the best companion. I was able to work from home from Rachel's house and Hannah loved sitting near me or napping throughout the day and she was an adorable snuggle buddy at night. Hannah loves her walks and particularly enjoys smelling everything along the way. Be prepared to meander during the walk, it's worth it seeing how interested she is in all the plants! Hannah is a great dog and I would love to sit for her again. I would highly recommend this sit for anyone who likes to stay near home and enjoy a calm atmosphere while still being close to city convenience! Thank you Rachel and Hannah.

Taking care of Strudles was a delight! He is such a friendly and affectionate guy who loves to cuddle and spend time with you. He is also very talkative, which was super cute. His care was easy and well-communicated.

Oliver was very communicative both before the sit and when we met in person and both he and Ida seem lovely. Their home is brand new and spacious with every amenity you could need for a good stay.  We particularly enjoyed the relaxing nature views from their windows, despite their neighbourhood being so well connected to all of Stockholm (the Stockholm transportation system is on another level!) 

All in all we really enjoyed our time and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves cats!

This was a beautiful sit, the house is very comfortable with an amazing kitchen and garden.
We were able to join Jane and Mabel the night before for a good introduction to Mabel routine 
The house is in the heart of the village with a dog friendly pub and village shop within walking distance Lots of lovely walks for Mabel right outside the door although she likes to go exploring further afield Mabel is very gentle and easy in the car and walking in the city. We enjoyed our time with Mabel and highly recommend this sit
