Marisa and Rue are a lovely, welcoming couple. Rocky and Barley are beautiful dogs who were a pleasure and extremely easy to look after. On top of that the house is amazing with a great view from the third floor bedroom which we stayed in, to wake up to. Anybody who is offered the opportunity to house sit here will be extremely fortunate. Thank you so much.
Everything was great! The cats are so lovely, each with their own personality. It’s been really easy to take care of them, Baloo takes pills twice a day, but he was pretty disciplined about it. Sophie is the sweetest cat ever, so snuggly and friendly and loving. The home is beautiful, the garden is such a paradise, and the neighbourhood is the best of NY in my opinion. Amy and Brad are so so nice, so welcoming and friendly. I really felt at home here.
We had a wonderful time with Wookie, and we were lucky to spend some time with Jenny before she went away. Jenny was a perfect host and made us feel right at home. Wookie is such a sweetie; he loves to be close to you and was either with me or my son Alex at all times 🥰. He puts his paw up for you to give him strokes and cuddles, which was so cute. Wookie was also a great passenger in the car and made my son chuckle when he got to the passenger side first! He seemed very at home. We took Wookie out every day to the beach or town; he was chilled and easy to be with and fine around people and other dogs (Jenny did say he might not be okay with other dogs, but he was okay on these occasions). Jenny’s house is in such a beautiful location, 10 minutes from the nearest beach and 15 minutes into Dartmouth town centre. The large Sainsbury’s supermarket is also only 10 minutes away, which was very convenient. The house is also beautiful, a renovated cottage with lovely comfy beds, stunning views from the bedroom windows, and a most charming garden to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or a drink in the early evening We would not hesitate to look after Wookie again.
Rocky and Lilly are such good pups! They're both extremely sweet and will follow you around everywhere. They love to cuddle up to your side and be with you wherever you are. They also have really cute personalities as well and kept having me say, "Awww!" Chloe and Clement are both really sweet and nice, and make sure you feel comfortable and prepared before they leave. The location is a quick walk to the beach which is really nice as well, and the people in the building are nice. (There was quite a bit of construction one of the neighbors was doing while I was there that was pretty loud and distracting during the day, but I suppose that's something that's hit or miss.) There were also nice/enjoyable routes to take for walks, which was a nice perk. Really the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were roaches in the kitchen that they knew about but didn't tell me about in advance. They said the building is doing something about it, so hopefully it isn't an issue anymore for when you stay there, but it freaked me out and grossed me out and I wish I had a heads up about that since it was something known. I don't do well with bugs so I (personally) felt really uncomfortable any time in the kitchen after that. All that said, Lilly and Rocky really are awesome, awesome dogs that are a pleasure to take care of. They'll quickly warm your heart, and I recommend sitting for them!
Fozzie is a delightful little soul :) He is lovable and enjoys to purr while being groomed. A well behaved cat, very easy to be taken care of and so delicate that sometimes you cannot even feel if he is inside the home or not. Donna and Paul are such nice persons, organized and willing to make our stay as confortable as they could. Before the arrival they have prepared a detailed home guide for us but also took the time to explain everything we needed on the spot. They prepared an amazing tasteful dinner in the first day (which we highly appreciated) and they made sure we have everything we need in the upcoming ones. The home is well equipped with all utilities and appliances you could possibly need, and also has a lovely garden where you could take some fresh air and enjoy a sunny day. I did a housesit for Yvonne in beautiful Kinsale, with the adorable Ellie. The house is spacious with all modern conveniences, and the garden is an oasis of calm. Yvonne has a chicken that produced an egg every day, lovely for breakfast. I would highly recommend this sit, Yvonne was easily communicated with and I hope to return in the near future.
