Rick and I would really like to thank Pamela and Glenn for a wonderful stay with their gorgeous kitties in their “modest, quirky but very cute and comfy, beach cottage”. Yes, these are their words but describe it so aptly, we had the most relaxing week even though Rick was still working online. The most important thing for us were the four lovely cats, Socky is like a teenage boy and comes home when it’s food time then leaves when he’s ready. When he's there he loves attention, he is such a cutie. The three younger ones Shmoke, Mojo and Bijoux stay very close to home and all have their own spots to hang out in the garden. Shmoke is very curious and also loves attention, pats and posing for photos. It felt really special when we gained the trust of the two rescue girls Mojo and Bijoux and they would follow us whenever we were outside, the courtyard, up the back at the vegie garden, out the front on the grass or on the deck at the front. They all love to play games especially with dried leaves and would chase them for ages. Sitting on the front deck with a cuppa tea and listening to the ocean while playing with the kitties was my favourite place. Or I would grab a beanbag, find a shady spot in the courtyard and read a book, I don’t get the chance to be quiet and chill that often – what a bonus! We housesat in March, the weather was great, a small amount of rain but we were in jeans and a t-shirt each day – around 20-22C. We walked along the beach every other afternoon as it was so close and the sunsets were spectacular. The town is small, so everyone says, hello and waves, it is a lovely community and it’s great Whanganui is just 15mins away by car. It has everything you need, there are plenty of things to do in and around Whanganui that suited this garden/nature lover and photographer. :) This was truly an awesome, relaxing, fun, enjoyable stay and it was topped off by the lovely couple that call this place home. They couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly if they tried. There was nothing we didn’t like about this housesit and hope to be back soon. Five stars – Highly Recommend to anyone and everyone (except we want them to choose us again).
I loved sitting for Amy and Brad. To start, they are incredible people with so many wonderful stories to tell. Their home is beautiful, crafted and cared for over decades in one of the loveliest Brooklyn neighborhoods. They were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, as well as thorough and communicative about pet and home tasks. The fish are easy and fun to watch, and the cats are so loved and dynamic, a joy to be around. They all have different personalities but took well to me over the days, and even though it was only a week, I’d say I even made some friends :•) Amy and Brad are true animal-lovers and it reflects on how committed they are to making sure their at-home and outdoor pet pals have the best life experience. Thanks for trusting me to keep that up in your absence! x
we loved the housesit with Jess. Odie and Holly are so well behaved and loving animals, we felt very comfortable! We would come again :)
First, let me say the Ollie is the biggest sweetheart I've ever met. He is extremely well behaved and low key. He was a very easy pet to care for and fall in love with. It was a slight issue that we were sitting during a heat wave (even for Vegas) and that made him only really want to use the grass earlier or later in the day for potty, as it was hotter than the concrete but he's a champ and managed just fine. He likes to be your shadow while eating or being outside. Whoever gets to sit Ollie next is a lucky person! Prepare to have your heart stolen. Samantha was good about responding to questions, a welcome guide isn't provided but a letter was left for us at arrival. Clean sheets, towels and a very comfortable bed awaited us as well. Oh and expect Ollie hair everywhere! That boy can shed but seriously, the trade off to care for such a giant love bug is worth it.
It was a pleasure staying at Florrie-Anne’s. Her cats are beautiful and the flat was very comfortable and quiet. Florrie-Anne’s welcome guide covered everything and I felt at ease straight away. Thanks for a wonderful stay. X
This sit has definitely made it into my "Favourites" list! I stayed with Oscar and Cocoa for 3 weeks, and it was a real pleasure. They are both gentle, sweet souls - lovely companions and no trouble at all to look after. Max and his family left good information and were easy to communicate with. The house is very comfortable and in a cool area that I didn't know but came to like a lot: good transport links, amenities, garden centre and fun quirky shops on Wood Street. Not far from the William Morris gallery and photogenic "God's Own Junkyard"! A smooth, happy sit - highly recommended. Thanks Max and family!
