We had such a great sit with Luna and Shadow! Luna is a shy but delightful wee girl who is very smart, she knows lots of tricks and she’s very well behaved on walks. Shadow is very much like a shadow however if you look around for him he loves a pat and gives wonderfully aggressive head rubs. Clare and her girls made us feel super welcome, they made sure we were well informed before they left and cleared some space for us to store our things. Clare was always available to message if we needed. We would definitely recommend Luna and shadow for a relaxing house sit :)
Jennifer was very hospitable, organized, and accommodating – for example, she parked her car on the street so that I could use her space in the building’s back garage (nearby on-street parking is limited without a resident permit, but a car is in no way necessary since there are several nearby public transportation options.) Although we didn’t meet in person, Jenn and I did communicate via Zoom prior to the sit, and she left detailed instructions for me regarding Zoe’s care (which is by no means difficult) and was very responsive to my questions while on her vacation. Getting into the building and apartment was easy (as was departing.) Zoe herself is a sweetheart and, although initially stand-offish, she pretty quickly warmed to my presence. She seems quite healthy for her age, but understandably sleeps for much of the day in her box on the second floor. Periodically, she will meow for attention and it’s not always clear what she wants, but Jenn provided a list of strategies for figuring it out and addressing her momentary anxiety. Zoe quickly bored with my attempts to get her to play with her favorite string toy, but someone else might well have better luck :) As for the apartment, it was in many ways ideal – a cozy, clean, attractive, and light-filled duplex atop a 5-to-6-unit building. Indeed, the upstairs deck overlooking Florida Avenue looks to be a particularly pleasant place to relax during warmer months. I was invited to sleep on the very comfy king-size bed in the upstairs bedroom, but there is also a guest/workout room with a fold-out couch and ensuite full bath downstairs. In addition, there is a Trader Joe’s within walking distance -- and even the Capitol is just slightly over a half-hour walk away. So, if you are traveling to DC – especially as a tourist – you could hardly do better than staying at Jenn’s and taking care of Zoe!
I had a great time with Dobby and Pippin in London! When I arrived James showed me everything and I could contact Lexi and James all the time via whatsapp if I had questions, they are incredibly friendly! The Flat is very nice, you have your own bedroom with bathroom beside. The Location has a good connection to the city (several bus stops nearby). The cats are super sweet!! Pippin is very open-minded and welcomed me perfectly! Dobby was a little bit shy on my day of arrival, but opened up on the second day. The cats are very snuggly and playful, but most important: they are extremely! cute! :) I would definitely recommend staying at Lexis place!
In looking for an old sit I discovered I have been most delinquent in posting a review for Lauren, Kevin; Scruffy and Morris. We actually did two sits for them during an extended trip to Oregon--so obviously all was well for both of us. There are ample places for walking with Scruffy and Morris has the luxury of an automated sand box as well as a feeder on a timer--and Morris never misses the bell! Their home and accommodations are more than ample, pleasant and not far from any services by car or bus. Communication was good, and you can enjoy some of Kyle's work on display about their home-and extra treat!
Bun bun and Elvis were such good company and so very sociable when they got to know me :) Simon and Rebecca's home is very comfortable, close to interesting walks/ sights and only 20 minutes trot to the the beautiful city of Bath. Highly recommended
Kevin was an angel and the home was gorgeous! At one point there was a bit of an issue with the front door keypad, but they offered solutions and I was able to get in. Kevin was so much fun and great on walks, he loved going downtown and walking around the lake. All around a fabulous sit and great pup!
