It was lovely to welcome Stephen and Joan for another housesit, such peace of mind knowing that Barney would be well cared for. It is very reassuring to go away knowing everything will be in good order and well taken care of and I’d return to a very happy dog. I do hope Stephen and Joan will want to explore more of this area and sit for me again, I know Barney would be happy to see them and judging by the number of neighbours who have asked after them they’ve made many friends locally who’d welcome them back.

Elaine and Derren are the perfect pet sitters. They arrived the night before as we were leaving early the next morning, so we had the chance to go for a walk, have a meal together and chat things through. They took great care of our dog Ollie. He seemed to really like them and the many walks they took him on. The guinea pigs and plants were well looked after too. They kindly accepted us and our home, just as we are. We returned to our house and garden cleaner and tidier than we left it. We would happily have Elaine and Derren back any time to pet sit, if the opportunity arises. They are a genuinely nice couple.

Natalie was a great sitter. She communicated well with us often and seemed very capable and organised. We returned home to a clean and tidy house and very happy dogs, cat and chickens! Thank you Natalie.

Isabel and Jonny her husband with Wilfred their 3 year old son embraced the challenge of looking after Pollards Mill. They have been excellent housesitters and reported back to me frequently with how things were going at the property. I was sent photographs of the grounds regularly so that I was reassured the gardeners were doing a good job. They. let me know of any issues regarding machinery and equipment, which they took the initiative to sort out as I was not u=on island to do so. Anyone having this little family to look after their property would have a first class experience. Thank you so much Izzy, Jonny and Wilfred and good luck for the future.

It was really hard to find a sitter for our long overdue holiday away, as the sit is quite full on and I was starting to panic. Then along came Melanie, who was quite simply amazing! She's so chilled and took everything in her stride. She was wonderful with my young Jack Russell, she did my poorly cat's medication every day and looked after my Leopard tortoises so well and did everything as instructed with them (they are a bit of work cleaning etc). Everything was perfect and following a bit of a nightmare journey home we were greeted with a lovely meal. How kind of her. I would absolutely love her to stay again if she's not too booked up. I can't praise her enough, she was fab! Thank you Melanie and we hope to see you again soon.

Elizabeth stayed at my house for two weeks and took excellent care of my dog, Saba. The perfect housesitter really, just fitted in, was super easy and lovely to communicate with and left one happy dog and one tidy house! At the start of Elizabeth’s stay she realised the kitchen hot water had broken 😭 and was not only really patient with this over a bank holiday, but super flexible on welcoming the plumber and getting it sorted. A massive thank you for everything and hope you enjoyed this corner of north Wales!

KAtie was amazing with Ziba! She came a day earlier to familiarise herself with Ziba's routine, and even got us some sweets from the UK :) Communicating with her was seamless, and she left the house very clean as well. We are so lucky to have had Michelle as our cat-sitter. Our older cat, Gluino, got unexpectedly ill during her stay. Michelle recognised the signs and immediately called the vet to check on what should be done. Then, she rushed him to the clinic. His condition was very serious. Once stabilised, she took him home and monitored him the entire weekend. Gluino had high fever, his breathing was abnormally fast and refused to eat. Michelle went out of her way to find foods that might entice him to not starve himself. She bought chicken, tuna, tried treats and his favourite wet-food. She made sure to administer medicine, measure his breathing, stay in touch with the vet and make an appointment for Monday at another clinic (where it was planned for him to undergo more detailed tests). All this while keeping us updated about his wellbeing and taking care of our younger cat Nacho. She had to juggle the needs of a seriously ill cat and a young, active cat and was extremely resourceful in doing this. We were abroad and could only fly back on Sunday. Although in shock and extremely anxious, we had the peace of mind that Gluino is in great hands. Michelle stayed at Gluino's side up until the moment we arrived as she didn't want to leave him unsupervised. Besides being very skilled at taking care of cats, Michelle is a reliable, loving, caring and sweet person. We didn't have the pleasure to meet her partner Fran, but there is no doubt for us that he is no less of a wonderful human being. He helped her a lot in caring for Gluino during this very difficult time (Fran is allergic to cats and stayed at a rental place in Amsterdam. Still, he came over to the house to help Michelle care for our two cats). After returning home, Michelle would keep in touch to inquire about Gluino. She regularly asked for updates and sent words of encouragement. This meant a lot to us! Thank you for everything, Michelle!

We had the best time with Gus and Hobbes in their beautiful Mt Pleasant home. Individually, the dogs are precious souls that love affection and attention. As a pair they walk in sync and play together well. If Gus took a smell break while on a walk, Hobbes would patiently wait and not get too far ahead of his pal. We could leave for a few hours and return to an enthusiastic welcome.  

Alyssondra left detailed information about the dogs and the home.  The care plan was easy to follow. Communication was adequate and helpful. She and George have created a comfortable and inspiring home with plenty of books and lots of natural elements.  We felt like we were outside while we were inside. We utilized the well-supplied kitchen but also had fun eating out in Mt Pleasant where there is no shortage of restaurants.  The neighborhood streets are lined with coastal cottages, impressive homes, and lovely oaks. Very walkable.  And we found daily Pickleball at a community center just blocks from their home.

We are so appreciative of the opportunity to explore this section of Charleston. Gus and Hobbes stole our hearts. We would not hesitate to return for another sit!
