Alison
The two dogs were very friendly. The house was also clean and tidy.

It was very easy to communicate with Alison and she was very prompt in responding to any questions I had.

The bigger dog is very jumpy and she would often jump on me and hump my leg. When walking her, she does tend to pull the leash. Other than that, she is very friendly and great company!

The little dog is very quiet and easy to walk with.

I enjoyed my stay here. Thank you Alison 😊

Bel
We had a really wonderful stay at Bel and Jules’ beautiful home. The pets kept us very entertained and we loved having multiple rural walks right on the doorstep. The house is spacious, clean and so lovely to cook in, we barely left! Hope to come back again soon. Bel and Jules were very generous and cooked us dinner on the first night too! Thankyou X

Elodia
My sit with Elodia started out fine, we were in contact before agreeing to the sit and even had a video call. Once we both agreed on it, I purchased my flights and we were on! She kindly offered to pick me up from the airport upon my arrival and took me out for dinner that night to a local restaurant. However when she picked me up she was with a “friend” which I soon understood she was traveling with this person. What made me feel quite uncomfortable was that they informed me they weren't traveling until the next day and they were both staying at her house with me. It is my understanding the house should be empty for the sitter. Me arriving more than 24 hours earlier than they were supposed to leave made it quite awkward and things got worse when I realized their flight wasn't leaving until 10pm on my 2nd day at the house. So we “spent” the second day together at the house which was not what I signed up for.

Skyler was a treat, he’s friendly and once he warms up he was pretty easy to take care of, as were the hummingbirds. The instructions were pretty simple and clear to follow. However I must add that Ellie did mention "some" of Skyler’s medical conditions, she said on our video call the dog needed to take some medication with it’s food, which seemed easy enough. However it wasn’t until I arrived there that she decided to casually mention how there were some lubrication issues on it’s penis and how to handle those situations and “aid” him. I think these are things she should discuss upfront as some people may not be comfortable with dealing with these type of things.

On my 5th day at the house, she told me she’d be coming back home 4 days (5 nights) before the agreed upon sit duration was finished. (Non emergency situations are clearly stated in the T&C of TrustedHouseSitters) I explained this was not okay as she knew my flights were purchased beforehand and asked what would be okay for her, either paying for my remaining nights in Puerto vallarta or my flight change fare to go back home earlier, to which she replied neither were okay options as the house was “big enough” for the two of us to stay there. I did not wish to share the house with her, she is not the type of person I want to be around nor spend time with.

In the end I paid for my flight change and extra night of a hotel inPuerto Vallarta (a total cost of over 3000 pesos).

The lack of respect I received from this woman was shocking and honestly left me with the worst first impression this app could’ve given me! Certainly not looking forward to another experience on this App.

Cristina
I looked after a mischievous little furball named Nara over Christmas and New Year and it was the perfect introduction to THS.

Nara is incredibly affectionate, we would play almost constantly, so a couple of hours was nothing. We played when I cooked, we played when I arrived home, we played when I woke up in the morning, and sometimes she would stand and look at me... we both knew it was time for a chase. Then, when I was working, she would walk around the desk until she found a comfortable spot and watch me until she fell asleep... or attack my feet... I still have the scratches. And then, when I went to sleep, she would crawl under the bed so I fell asleep to her purring.

Other than Nara being adorable. Christina and Javier were perfect hosts. Originally I spoke with Christina, and she was very patient with my slightly unusual circumstance at the time, (I was living on a virtually empty island off of Ireland). We made an appointment via Whatsapp, after which she sent me detailed videos of everything that needed to be done, how to open and close the doors and windows etc.

After arriving, the three of us kept in contact via a Whatsapp group, so there was always some one to contact if problems had arisen. Thankfully none did. I think Christina worries about how often she wants to hear about Nara, but we chatted once a day, which I don't think is obtrusive at all. I also sent a photo once every two-ish days, which if Nara was my cat, I would probably want a photo every 5 minutes!

Both Christina and Javier are very kind. They treated me as a guest rather than as a worker. They asked their cleaner to come in midway through the sit, they left me food in the fridge, and Javier let me use his computer monitor to help me with my photo editing.

The apartment is a great place to stay. Clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and modern kitchen. The building is very safe, as there is a concierge between the two main doors both of which are locked with RFID locks. There is a car-park, bike storage and a small fitness centre with running machines, bikes and a multi-gym. The location is of course perfect, especially for Arsenal fans, it's a short walk to the Underground which will take you direct into the centre.

I had a great ten days, so thank you to all three of you.

This is meant to be a recommendation for future sitters, but sadly for you, the next sitter is me!!!

Gorgeous house, lovely surroundings, welcoming host. The electric blanket in the guest room is a lovely touch. 2 cars are very independent and lady cat Pooey will tell you what she wants, while Boy cat will be like a ninja around the house, black, hardly seen 😁 Very clear instructions from James, pet patent, very easy and enjoyable sit.
