Prior to the sit, there was very good communication via WhatsApp. Tom and Christine made us feel very welcome and had prepared a meal for us which was delicious. We were provided with excellent notes on everything you need to know so that the sit would run smoothly and also useful information on local attractions and supermarkets. We felt as if we were at a Spa retreat. Due to it’s elevated position, one day you could be in the clouds and another day you could have beautiful panoramic views overlooking the Dordogne River and beyond. I absolutely took advantage of the Yoga room which was very peaceful. Glynn however enjoyed himself wandering around the garden taking photographs of insects which is his thing. Kouma is the most adorable dog. We fell in love with him immediately. He has excellent manners and is extremely well behaved. You can take him anywhere and he wouldn’t let you down. We found a few walks from the house but if you venture out in the car a bit further, you were spoilt for choice. There is a 9.3km loop trail near La Roque-Gageac. It’s quite an easy route and takes about 3 hrs to complete. Dogs are welcome but they must be kept on a leash. The Dordogne Valley is superb with stunning tourist attractions in every direction. Beautiful medieval villages, chateaux, prehistoric caves and canoeing along the River Dordogne. Being a tourist area, we thought that eating out would be expensive but were pleasantly surprised that the restaurants were generally the same price as the non tourist areas of the Dordogne where we live. So we send a big ‘Thank You’ to Tom and Christine for entrusting your beautiful home and Kouma to us. It was fabulous. xx
Baloo was such a sweetheart, very playful and loving and really enjoys long walks! It was so great to hang with him for a bit☺️
Loved looking after Bingo and Gigi! Jennie and Ryan were very welcoming, and left their home extremely neat and tidy. They left us space in the wardrobe and pantry, and provided everything we needed. The area is beautiful, with walking trails and a good pub. The animals were very affectionate and well-behaved (miss them already!). Thank you so much Jennie!
Loki is the sweetest dog, smart, good-natured and eager for any walk (« sniffari ») or outings to new places. Her paw parents Sue and Harald are genuine and generous in every way. All in all it was a fabulous experience!
We stayed for one week at Maria’s house taking care of Chiquitita, and we both agree that it was an absolutely amazing experience!! 💕✨ Chiquitita is a super sweet & well-behaved little kitty, and we adored being able to care for her. Maria’s house is absolutely lovely and comfortable, with excellent access to central London. We are truly SO grateful for the experience, and had an unforgettable Christmas in London 🙏 Thank you so much Maria! ❤️
We had an amazing sit at Lynne’s house while looking after Rosie and Emily! Rosie is the most loving cat that liked to follow us around and sit on laps. Emily was super cute but much too cautious to let us pat her. The house was big and clean and had a cowboy pool in the back which was a nice touch. Lynne was responsive with all messaging and left a comprehensive document for all house rules. We worked from home while at the property and the internet was plenty fast for our needs. Would happily stay and house sit here again!
