We had a really lovely weekend with Emmy at Al’s and Charley’s place! Al and Charley are both lovely and made us feel very welcome. They showed us where everything was and offered to help with anything we needed! The village is also very cute with a lovely cafe and lots of different walks. Emmy is such a sweetheart, she warmed up to us quite quickly and came to us for some snuggles and belly rubs, which was super cute! She is also such a funny dog-cat when it comes to food, we’ve never seen a cat who likes food so much. We already miss her!
We were disturbed by damp smells and builders due to a leak in the house and a damp situation. The sit was one month long and we were expected to give a changeover in the middle of our sit - without clear instructions. The next couple taking over were displeased with this home - however we were then blamed for this. On false claims of the house being 'untidy' and 'unclean' from the people that took over mid-sit - without any evidence to suggest why. Despite being very understanding during all of this - we given a completely unfair - lack of gratitude review. The communication was poor and despite being given a track record of 5 star reviews and looking after multiple homes - including this one - with care and respect - Claire decided to blame us on these completely false accusations. So unless you are willing to risk being under-appreciated and for out-of-the-blue attacking, impulsive and unkind behaviour - from nowhere - I would definitely not recommend this sit.
I really enjoyed looking after Marshall, he's a sweet, loving and loveable dog. He's very calm and laid-back and was excellent company when I was working online, he always kept nearby. He can be a little prone to pulling when out walking but after a few minutes he settles down. He can get excitable on seeing other dogs and cats but having some treats helps distract him and we were able to get into a nice walking rhythm. There are some lovely walks nearby, especially around the lake area. Seamus and Jacqui are friendly, kind and considerate and had stocked up on some food for me and showed me around the village before leaving. Their home is lovely and spacious, both inside and outside. I really enjoyed my time there and miss Marshall's sweet company. Thanks, guys.
This sit for Fran and Keith is a gardeners dream come true. Be it flowers or veggies there is quite a variety. Their gardens are meticulously cared for and beautiful. During a hot and dry spell there is lots of watering and harvesting to be done. An added bonus is the pool and all the tomatoes you can eat. The 3 kitties are a pleasure to sit. The twins are very playful and cuddly once they get to know you. They love playing with or without your participation. Cujo is more stand offish but comes around. Their home is very comfortable, clean and tidy, instructions are detailed and Fran and Keith are very communicative. They enjoyed the pics I sent on a daily basis. They are quick to reply to messages.
Rebecca’s home, and Benji were lovely! We met in advance and I was clear on all the info. The cottage is in a great location for Ashley Cross, Whitecliff and the beaches. Benji was easy to look after, he’s sociable with other dogs so being off the lead was no trouble at all :) thanks Rebecca!
I had a wonderful time house sitting and watching Mr. Napoleon who really is the best little companion!! We enjoyed our time together playing with the laser pointer and lots of body scratches and headbutts and I felt completely bonded to him. What a great companion he is!!! Jacqueline had all of everything described, labeled and ready and she is so very considerate and accommodating. Amazing owners! Oh and the neighbors are also very helpful if you need help as well. I’d love to come back again and housesit if asked!
