Amy and her husband were extremely easy to work with, I had absolutely no issues with them. And Amy left me a thank you note, how sweet is that?!?!? Highly recommend.
Xan is an excellent pet sitter! the communication has been super efficient with useful updates and pictures of little Taco. Xan gave Taco all the attention he needed and provided for him following up all the instructions of the welcome guidance. We had a little health issue to solve and Xan has handled it super well! Although if it has been only 1 week, Taco seemed already attached to Xan in the end. Thank you very much Xan and see you soon!
Reggie and I had a wonderful sit looking after the adorable Apricot, Kirsty’s elderly cat. He loves human company and especially plenty of brush grooming. He is a super furry friend and easy to take care of. Kirsty’s well appointed apartment is situated in a lovely part of Mallorca which, with the aid of a hire car, we were able to explore. Thank you for choosing us, Kirsty! Jane and Reggie
Our housesit for Julie and her four dogs was a delight. Julie picked us up at the closest train station and immediately gave us a wonderful tour of the area so we were somewhat familiar with the area from the beginning. Julie took us to the beach one day, and another day we visited the river, which flows into the nearby sea (great for a refreshing dip) . The result was that we knew the lay of the land (and the sea) reasonably well. The dogs were not accustomed to a leash. Rather when they went out they ran among the many trees bearing olives and frolicked for a bit. But when we called them in they knew a treat was awaiting so they quickly came back with us. Tommy, one of the smaller dogs, had a mind of his own so sometimes he would hang back of the others for a brief period, but then he soon decided to come home with his companions. We must raise a cautionary note with you. If you are a hard core city person this may not be the sit for you. Our space was one of the AirB&B units, so it was complete with modern bath and kitchen. However, it sits deep in the forest, so it takes 10-15 minutes of driving over an unpaved road to get there, and you would be wise to bring plenty of mosquito spray or any other bug repellent you may like. The bugs should not dissuade you, however, from a sit with Julie's four dogs. First, there is a continuous flow of guests for the Air BNB units so it is rare that you will find yourself completely alone. Second, Tommy, Cassie, Ruby, and Nancy will quickly respond to all the love you can give them and they will quickly become good friends.
We had a great time in Alison's beautiful Chalet bordering the "Parc Naturel Regional du Haut-Jura" This is an area with an abundance of hiking (mountainbiking) opportunities. Lac de Geneva is very close and easy reachable (also by train) for breathtaking views of the lake and the Savoyan Alpes - Mont Blanc. Alison and her family welcomed us warmly and most important Alfie was exited to meet new friends. Communication was excellent, all necessary information regarding her property and the local community was provided. Her house is fully equipped with a big secluded garden in a quiet neighbourhood. Alfie is a affecionate wonderfull companion on hikes starting from the backyard. As soon as you leave the housed area there is no need for a leash. He also loved to go on sightseeing tours in our car. Sirius is a very relaxed Maine Coon independently exploring his surroundings. We very highly recommend this sit opportunity and would love to come back.
Denise was one of the best pet parents we could ask for! Michael went the day before she left to meet Penny and Casper and she explained everything perfectly and they even went on a walk together so Penny could get more used to Michael. Casper and Penny are very easy going and we feel confident and calm during our time with them. Casper is extremely affectionate and full of love to give. Penny was wary of us in the first few hours, but when it was time to watch a series on the sofa, she melted and came over to cuddle. They both loved sleeping with us and were always laughing and playing during the day. Denise's house is incredible! If you love the beach, this is her paradise. We walked around the surrounding area and within 10 minutes we were in an incredible area with lots of nature and we could see the beach from above. We took Casper out for a walk on the first day and he was extremely confident and calm during the journey. On the way back we had to carry him due to his condition. But for him he would go many more miles! Finally, we would like to thank Denise for being such a wonderful person, we take care of the house and the little ones with great pleasure, love and affection.
I had a lovely couple of days looking after harvey, who was a pleasure to take care of. Sarah was very communicative and helpful throughout. The house and the village are gorgeous and the walks nearby are lovely. Recommend!
This was a great sit in all ways! We need to first say Charlie is a very special dog and he won our hearts easily! He is extremely well behaved, and he is eager to make friends and be a part of your life as soon as you arrive. He loves to snuggle, enjoys belly rubs and just likes being around people. He also loves to take his walks - both at the nearby dog park, at the Carl Schurz Park along the river, in Central Park or along the neighborhood streets. He is often the leader with other dogs as they seem to gravitate to him. We felt like we were in the New York City version of Travels with Charley - In Search of the Upper East Side. (a twist on a Steinbeck novel!) As others have noted, we were genuinely sad to leave him at the end of the sit. The location of the apartment is perfect as it is between Central Park and the East river as well as a great neighborhood with direct access to the subways. There are so many great cafes and restaurants within a few blocks as well as a couple of grocery stores. Natalie gave great instructions and we were able to communicate whenever we needed. Her home is very lovely and has everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The building is also very secure and clean and the doormen were all friendly. We would return here without a doubt!
