Ellis is a real animal lover and obviously adores anything furry with four legs. She made a fuss of our cat Bob and the messages she sent us showed him looking super happy and taken care of. The fact that she’s a trainee vet and professional dog walker gave us comfort that Bob would be in good hands. The house was left tidy and we had a lovely bunch of flowers, bottle of wine, and card waiting for us when we got home. Where the experience could have been improved for us was on communication. In the run up to the pet sitting dates we found it hard to get hold of Ellis, to the point that we wondered whether the sit would go ahead. Once it had started she offered daily messages but they were actually a little sporadic. Sometimes we had to chase for a response. Having said that, it’s obvious that Ellis is a very competent pet carer.
We were so fortunate to have Emily Petsit for our two cats while we were away. Emily applied to our dates and was very proactive about sharing her experiences with housesitting. She did not have many reviews through TH community but she shared her Rover profile with us and all her feedback made us feel very confident in having her come to look after our house and pets. For this trip I was a little more frazzled and a little less prepared than I usually am. Emily was so patient and proactive, and helped us with insightful questions and clever recommendations. With our permission, Emily had her partner join her on this pet sit. After a virtual meeting we knew right away they were kind and genuine pet lovers. We felt that they were extremely trustworthy and respectful of our home. They were also so fabulous with our cats, who warmed up to them right away. Communication was fabulous and we felt very comfortable being away with our home and pets in such good hands. When we arrived home, the house was even tidier than we left it, the doors were locked up snugly, and the cats were relaxing in their favorite spots. They even spent a few minutes looking around and wondering where their new friends had gone! We would absolutely have them back any time, and would highly recommend them as excellent pet sitters to anyone else!
