Melina and Marc gave us such a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. Their place is absolutely beautiful and has stunning views of the red rocks. Cornelius is the friendlier of the three cats, and came to us right away. Chester is more shy and took time to get to know, but is an absolute sweetie. Then Safi is the older cat, more quiet and reserved but loves being pet. Location is close to town and has everything you need within minutes drive. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Lollee and Toto are 2 very sweet, loving, smart, funny and companionable Glen of Amaal Terriers (a breed I'd never heard of nor met in my 20 years as a petsitter!) that I got to enjoy caring for in 'their' super comfortable and attractive home perched above the waterfront. Kittery is the southernmost part of Maine, boasting extraordinary rock coastal beaches - a beautiful area to explore!

Communicating with Suzanne prior to/during the sit was friendly and easy, as was the detailed instructions she left for the pups' care. I knew this would be an A-1+ sit in my book even before meeting the 2 main characters. L & T (as I referred to them) were also great at letting me know how things go and what they liked: tummy rubs, "Chuck-it" ball throws, and treats (the look on their faces was easy to interpret - "this is the point where you give us a treat!" Haha :) They were easy to take along in the car and go for beach walks, errands, or exploring around the area. We were always stopped and asked by curious passerby as to what kind of dogs they were and I got to see further how sweet they interact with whomever.
The fact that L. had an unexpected upset tummy with frequent diarrhea for the last few days of the sit was just part of the experience of being the surrogate 'pawrent'. (A Veterinary visit the day after I left ascertained that she was on the road to recovery with a prescribed antibiotic that quickly helped to clear her up -- I was very glad to be informed of this afterwards.)

The light and airy, tidy and clean, quiet home is situated at the end of a long driveway and comes complete with comfortable sleeping accommodations/adjacent bathroom, and a well stocked 'chefs' kitchen!

I will surely return to this sit if the opportunity arises for our schedules to align. (Actually, I was invited back days after I left! :D - alas, I was already booked elsewhere...)

Thank you Suzanne, for entrusting me with your loves and home!

Louise
Louise and her family are lovely people and were very welcoming. We looked after Basil the cat and the rabbits, Bo and Pumpkin (Parsnip the dog went away with Louise). All the animals are easy to care for. The rabbits do their own thing in their large enclosure. Basil is adorable - very affectionate and vocal and a real personality. We loved having him around. Louise and Hugo's home is beautiful, full of historical interest, and offers all the home comforts one could possibly wish for (very comfy beds...thank you Louise!). The gardens and meadows surrounding their home are wonderfully peaceful spaces with breath-taking views where it was lovely to just sit and read. The church next door is also very interesting and worth a visit to see the fabulous stained glass windows and interesting gravestones etc. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the pub just a couple of minutes' walk away (The Nobody Inn) from their varied menu, all compliant with social distancing (relevant at the time we visited). We wouldn't hesitate to sit for Louise and Hugo again if the opportunity arises - it is a very special place. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome and letting us share your lovely home.

Victoria
It was a real pleasure to house sit for Victoria and Kelso. They are genuinely nice and welcoming. The house is lovely and comfortable. We loved hanging out with Storm and Arnie. Storm is such a beautiful dog, calm and listens to your every word. Communication from Victoria was great and I would definitely recommend this as an ideal house sitting opportunity
