Ashley was great with our cats; they seemed to love her and, she even got to open up the grumpy old lady. She sent videos every day and was good at communication. We appreciated that she went out of her way to rearrange the Tupper ware, she was very self-sufficient, and ended being reliable (at least with the cats) even when she left one day previous to our arrival because of a tropical storm, without filling the food dispenser and just a thin layer of litter for 3 adult cats in case something happened to our flight or us. By our arrival at 4 pm there was no food to see although she said she put enough for all 3 to go through the day and a disgusting mess to clean up in the litter box soaking in pee that the very little litter couldn’t retain. However, it was a kind of bitter sweet coming back. We are very happy to see our cats happy and fatter, but the condo was way off to have been left in the same conditions she got it, and my plants didn’t receive the care I left written in the instructions. It was very disappointing to have to clean the condo (especially the kitchen) after a 12-hour flight and the night before the arrival not sleeping. I cleaned this condo meticulously for her to feel comfortable. We even put some things brand new for her, but she for some reason rearranges the place (pushed what she didn’t want/like in cabinets and the guest room) and she assumed we should put everything back where it was at our arrival after such a long flight back. We understand she wanted to make it her place and have more space since it is a small place, and how I said in my profile; “we live here too and the space for more people is limited” but we expected she would put everything back for us to come back to our home how we left it. The electronics and other objects from the countertop were shoved to the corners, there were traces of spilled food all over the white cabinets, fridge, stove and the counter itself, grease all over the microwave and the kitchen cabinets. She left the master bathroom sink drain screen, that we bought for her brand new and we never used, out of place very visual and full of drain gang and soap. (We have no idea why she did that but we felt a bit disrespected since we bought it new for her). The floor and the bathrooms were dirty and dust and cat hair all over the furniture. We would expect this careless way to leave our home, if we wouldn’t have let her boyfriend to stay with her in our condo when she unexpectedly let us know that she had one (boyfriend) and he wanted to stay 3 weeks there, but we try to do all in our power to make her feel wanted and welcome. She didn’t follow the instructions I left on the welcome guide and I even printed one copy for her to go through it, in case of a quick doubt. She drowned my plants even when I wrote to be specially carful not to put too much, but my cactuses were soaked and swimming in water (I lost 2 plants), as well she put pots and knifes in the dishwasher even when I literally told her not to do it and was in the guide and as well in the house rules (2 of the wooden knifes are gone, I guess the wooden handle broke and the rest of the knifes are unsharp now). There was just a little bit of litter in the litter box and the baking soda that we asked to put in, was untouched. They jammed the closet bifold door in the screened patio and left it open, this is not a big deal for us since we know things get broken but it is not ok for the rest of the stuff when it was clearly for not following our instructions. Since before she arrived, we felt she wasn’t as appreciative as we were and showed some untrusting behavior. We didn’t appreciate she calling the property manager without telling us to confirm with them, if it was true that she needed to send us a picture of her driving license. As we didn’t appreciate when the property manager told us that she hung up on her when the property manager told her that she would need a back ground check that she would have to pay like anybody else that want to live in the community, since the property manager didn’t know the arrangement we did with the president to avoid her to have to do the screening that she or us would have to pay. We were not expecting to be best friends or something like that, but we didn’t appreciate the lack of willingness to interact with us; we offered her to stay the night prior to our flight, since we had to leave early next morning, in the guest room that I used to rent in Airbnb for up to 1000 $ a month so we could explain to her all she needed to see on her own to understand and to answer any question she could have once she saw the condo. She rejected the offer saying that she would feel uncomfortable with us and insinuated that she would come the night prior if we pay a hotel room for her.
Really appreciated Mark's care of Shahin and my garden!
Daniel was amazing with my nervous housecat, kept in touch and made sure my cat was really well cared for- and has oodles of patience! Thank you so much!
We really had an unforgettable time in Eindhoven. Gulnara and Thomas have a very nice home with a wonderful garden. We both had our own guest room and felt very comfortable. Lusya is the most relaxed cat we have ever met and she made our day. Squirtle the turtle is very easy to look after thanks to her self-catering facility. The contact and exchange with Gulnara and Thomas was very nice before, during and after, we could turn to them with all our questions. They are very helpful and obliging. We would definitely come back if it suits. Thank you very much again for your trust in choosing us as our first sit. Best regards Gesa and Birgit
This sit was a little piece of heaven cake! Theo and Sebastian are an absolute dynamic duo, (they get along great)very communicative in their own way, and will give you a serious oxytocin boost if you let them. I loved all their snuggles. You must know that Theo is a community celebrity, so be ready to meet the neighbors and their dogs. He also has opinions about the route you take for your walk, don't worry he is a gentleman about it but will let you know with a stiff leg when he'd rather make a different turn. The community is gorgeous and taking him for walks was beautiful with all the spring blossoms. The home is equipped with everything you might need and Kim was very kind and communicative. I highly recommend this sit and hope to be back someday myself.
