We adored minding beautiful Angus and Isla - both were well mannered and gorgeously house trained dogs who were a total delight to take for a walk. They loved their food and were both exceptional to take of. Sue and Dom were very hospitable making us feel right at home with great communication, directions and welcome. Sue had prepared a lovely meal and room with chocolates, a message to welcome and thank us and bathrobes. Dom made some lovely soup. We loved our time at Straimont. Thank you Sue and Dom.
Carlotta was quick with communication from the very beginning. She got back to me promptly to let me know I had been selected for the sit. Instructions on where to find everything was super clear and I felt like I could ask her any questions. I met her in person a day before the sit to get a tour of the apartment. She even left me some tasty dinner 😋. And she had lots of good tips on places to visit in Berlin. The apartment is clean, nice and spacious and is located in a central part of Berlin. I felt at home right away. There are lots of options for restaurants, bars, coffee and groceries very close by, but the apartment is tucked away nicely so that you can’t hear anything from the street. It’s the best of both worlds😁! Nina is an active, playful, cuddly, loving, curious kitty. I loved every minute with her. When she’s not chasing her tail, she’ll be giving you LOTS of snuggles. And you’ll definitely become her best friend at feeding time. Speaking of food, make sure to always watch your food, otherwise she may take a bite😆. Thank you for allowing me to watch Nina, Carlotta, and thank you for letting me into your lovely, clean and calm home. I hope I get a chance to spend some more time with Nina in the future, I keep going back to the pictures and videos I took of her because I miss her already🥲.
Jess was a fantastic host and Dude was the coolest cat around. Right off the bat, Jess made me feel super welcome. I spent the night before she left meeting her and the neighbours and it was lovely getting recommendations about the neighbourhood from locals. And also just knowing I could knock on the neighbours's door if ever there was a problem (thankfully there wasn't). The place itself was comfortable and cozy (even during a super intense -20 snowstorm) and had everything I needed for my stay there. And last but not least-- Dude. The coolest cat around. He likes people around while he eats but otherwise he's the easiest. He'd come nuzzle at bedtime or if there was particularly bad weather, but he spent most of his days outside doing what cats do. He's a sweetie and I still miss him! All in all I would HIGHLY recommend Jess and Dude's home as a great place to pet sit.
Penny was a gem! She was such a cuddler and shadow, she really loves people and is happy to be showered with affection. She behaved so well, and we went on a couple walks every day. She's very chill and happy to lounge around or follow us around the house. The house was very welcoming, a great location (walking distance to VERY good eats) with a garden that offered lots of quiet areas to read or relax. Geoff and Nancy went above and beyond to make us feel appreciated! This housesitting experience was five stars hands down, and we'd be happy to do it again any day. 😊
We absolutely loved watching Ruthie! She is such an easy, sweet dog that loves to play tug of war and get lots of pets. She was happy to hang outside while we sat on the porch, take long walks to explore the area, or just curl up next to us on the couch for a movie night. Caitlin also made sure everything was set up for us before she left, and gave lots of great recommendations for places to visit!
Kristen an Thaddeus have a beautiful home and family. It was a joy to take care of Bear and Maddie. The home very comfortable in great neighborhood. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I miss the dogs already. Joe
