Lauren was brilliant. From the initial chat with Lauren, she was easy to talk to and friendly. We arranged this sit well in advance but checked in a few times beforehand and all went smoothly with arranging arrivals etc. When Lauren arrived, Luna warmed up to her instantly and even Nev was interested, which put me straight at ease. I was kept up to date with how the cats were getting on, with pictures as well. I could tell the cats were happy when I got a picture of Luna asleep on Lauren's lap. Lauren was also there to do a handover when I got home, and it was so nice to have someone welcome me back after a long trip! Even making me a cup of tea and sharing a lunch. All in all, I highly recommend Lauren as a house and pet sitter! I'd happily have her to sit again.
Greg took great care of my pets! The cat had a medical emergency while he was here, and he handled it with dispatch, keeping me updated regularly and managing the emergency vet, then giving her medication at home. Both she and my dog were clearly loved and happy when I got home. My only issue was that he didn't water the plants sufficiently - one actually expired from thirst and the rest are pretty sad. But the house and car were clean, and again the pets were delighted with him. He's not the first house sitter to forget about the plants! I definitely recommend him for pet care - and I'm sure if you make a point of telling him your plants are precious to you, and leaving clear directions regarding their care, he's certainly capable of keeping them alive. The only other problem we had was with his email system. We exchanged a lot of emails, but after several successful messages his system started losing my responses. It took me a while to figure out what was happening, and starting a new thread fixed the issue. This is less likely to be a problem with a shorter stay, I should think. It happened twice over the two months I was away. I think it had something to do with his combined email box: his responses started coming from an address I had not sent to, and then replies to the new address got lost - likely moved into the junk mail. Unfortunately SMS was not an option for his Russian phone plan in the US. Bottom line: it was a very good experience with minor bumps in the road.
Leigh was simply delightful. The pups took to her right away. She kept us up to date with not only pics of the pups but of the landscaping job (that started early). I even canceled my scheduled house cleaning, she left out home so immaculate. I will definitely request Leigh again and hope she says "YES"!!!
We spent an overnight stay with Basil and Bargle back in February. Basil was a well behaved boy and the house was very well kept and comfortable to stay in. Liam and Imogen are great hosts, we had very thorough instructions and ideas for some lovely walks to take Basil on! Would highly recommend.
