This was a really enjoyable sit, largely because Louise had been very clear about what needed doing and the two dogs were a joy to be with. A lovely, comfortable house in a lovely part of the world: close to Bury St Edmunds for shopping, lots of local walks and some fabulous village pubs nearby (The Queen's Head at Hawkedon is now on our top 10!).
The sit with Tinker and Socks was arranged for the summer. We couldn't apply the first time we saw it so when the sit was available again we had no doubts. We felt very lucky when Maxine picked us as her sitters, this was our first sit but she made us feel really welcome in her home. We arrived a day earlier so Maxine and her bunnys could meet us, we had a wonderful evening getting to know each other and she even treat us with a nice dinner. She is very warm and hospitable. Her house is well equipped and clean, it's located next to the metro so it was very easy to move around Valencia. One of our favorite part of the journey was getting home and see Tinker and Socks waiting for us. They are very easy to look after if you follow Maxine instructions. They are both very cute and lovely, Tinker likes the atention and pets, sometimes he watched a serie or movie with us on the sofa or claimed our atention by booping our ankels . Socks is more reserved and enjoys laying on the floor near us or playing with his toys but he is also very lovely. We had a really great first experience being sitters thanks to Maxine and we'll miss Tinker and Socks after being a month with them.
I thoroughly enjoyed my sit for Jodi, Parker, Andy and the chickens! The house is a very cool early 60s modern construction in a quiet but extremely convenient part of Raleigh. The boyz are fun, eager to play but also very chill when you are working or watching TV. The smaller chickens are in a beautiful coop and very easy to take care of, the older hen is in a separate cage and only needs attention every few days. Jodi is very easy to communicate with and the guest room is very comfortable. Overall, the sit was very simple but also A LOT of fun. I would recommend sitting for Jodi to anyone and look forward to sitting for her (and the boyz) again in the very near future!
We loved housesitting for Mark and Michael. They made it super easy for us to learn their pets' routines, they equipped us with a well-detailed manual about the house and how to best take care of the animals. This made it easy for us to feel right at home quickly. Mark and Michael were more than happy to respond to any questions we had while they were away too. We fell in love with Summer, Gulliver, little Boris, and the cats. And we miss them so much already!
Absolutely lovely sit! Olga Maria is extremely kind, thoughtful and communication was great from beginning to end. Luce and Amor are easy going cats, Luce is an absolute sweetheart and Amor appeared now and then for some food then would get out again to make the most of the summer weather! The area is very pleasant and a great base to explore Basel, Alsace and neighbouring Germany. The apartment is calm and surrounded by greenery. I would recommend this sit to anyone who would enjoy peace , quiet and two lovely cats!
These two pups were a joy to care for. Winnie was so sweet and kind. She watched out for her older counterpart! Kernie, being an elderly dog, was much slower to walk and Winnie was always patient. Then she went wild when it was just the two of us! Running to her favorite spots and definitely letting ME know which way! They ate breakfast early in the morning, 7-ish and woke me the one day I overslept! They had their evening meal around 7pm. We walked 2-3 times each day. Carrying Kernie wasn’t extremely difficult, but please note the stairs are steep and this could be an issue for some people. I was comfortable all the time, and I loved the neighborhood. Lots of bars and restaurants and grocery store was close. Easy to get anything you may want. The apartment was nice, lots of light and a breeze would keep things cool enough. It was May so not yet too hot. I love Florence and I’d be back if Erin would have me!
