Stuart and Janell were excellent housesitters and we consider ourselves very lucky to have had them sit for us this year for so long. They are very expert in handling dogs, and have even got a business selling pet accessories for motorbikes. They are travelling with their two very well behaved dogs - Wheaty and Shadow. Initially we were slightly dubious about introducing two extra dogs to our group of three (quite territorial) dogs and two cats, but Stuart and Janell reassured us that they would take introductions slowly and make sure everyone was comfortable every step of the way during the integration period. It went very smoothly indeed and they all got on very well, sleeping in the same area and going on long happy walks together (even the cats went along on some of the walks too!). if anything, having new dogs living with ours for a while was a bonus, as we live in a remote area so it helped to socialise them a little bit. Gatsby even became good friends with Wheaty, and they played quite a bit which was lovely for him. Stuart and Janell took good care of the chickens and the house too, and even introduced some great improvements and systems which have made our life easier subsequently! They are proactive problem solvers who communicate very well when needed, but took care not to deluge us with constant queries so we could enjoy our break - for example, they sourced excellent dog food for us (which is not necessarily straightforward in our area) -and they also maintained great relationships with the locals in our area. When we arrived back home they had made up our room for us, and gave us a very kind and warm welcome even though due to a slightly stressful journey we did not arrive back until midnight. We know that they have intrepid travel plans which may not include our neck of the woods again in the immediate future, but would absolutely love to have them and their charming dogs back here again. I would highly recommend them - honestly, if they apply to sit for you do not hesitate to book them.. We wish them both - and Wheaty and Shadow too of course - the very best of luck on their future adventures and hope to see them again one day!
