Bodie was such a sweet and well-behaved dog. He was a dream to take on walks or to the dog park, where he got along with every dog and person he met. Blue was mostly outdoors, but super sweet when he made an appearance. Dizzy was super sweet and could be very vocal. Heather was great about responding to communication and extremely kind. We met weeks prior to the sit, so I did see the home and meet pets beforehand. There are a lot of lovely plants, which are enjoyable but a little hard to care for if you don't have a green thumb. The home is in a convenient area close to downtown Vancouver and a short drive to Portland. However this was in many ways a difficult experience. On arrival things felt unprepared and unorganized. There was not one set of clear notes/welcome guide with all the needed info, which was frustrating. But a bigger issue was that the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were unprepared for a guest staying for over three weeks. There was no room made available in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen (bedroom drawers/closet, bathroom shelves, kitchen freezer, counter) which made the stay feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, and with little thought or regard for the guest. The kitchen and bathroom were also not completely clean, with rotting and molding food left in the fridge and on the counter. It did not meet the standard of equitable exchange in my opinion. I think with more effort of preparation, it would be a nice stay with lovely pets.
Thank you Terry for such a wonderful sit, you live in a very friendly village. We enjoyed the house so much and especially your garden, we are going will miss all the fruit and vegetables! The places to visit just on your doorstep are endless and the villagers were always giving us tips on where to go, 3 weeks just weren't long enough. Now we are leaving the best till last !! Mr Jinks was gorgeous and certainly stole our hearts. He is the most amusing and bright dog, he wasn't any trouble at all. We soon established an easy routine with him. Bedtime was simple, he was contended to sleep in his bed in our comfortable room. We walked him morning and late afternoon, with so many village/off road walks it was a pleasure. He just loves a lap to sit on and settles down nicely. Leaving him when we went out was also simple, amazing what doggie chocolate can achieve. We really hope to repeat the experience and will be on the look out for dates of your next break. All the best David and Carole
We don’t believe we’ll ever find the best words to describe this family, but we’ll try. Jo-Ann and David are amazing people. Funny, intelligent, kind, friendly, and warm, they made us feel welcome in their home in the first minutes, and we felt like we were in the company of family or friends from the beginning. Grace is our best friend. She is the sweetest, cuddliest, and best well-behaved dog we have ever met. She just loves being around you, playing basketball, and going for her walks. Being with Grace was delightful every day, and we miss her so very much. Their home is gorgeous, spacious, comfortable and we were lucky enough to be there close to Christmas because the decoration warmed our hearts daily. The neighborhood is great! You have everything walking distance and the beautiful High Park very close. We truly thank the 3 of you and can't wait to see you all again!
We really, really enjoyed taking care of Fiona, Maggie and Ernie for Allen & Sharon. Their dogs are a lot of fun and very loving and well behaved. Communication was great both before the sit and during and everything went very smooth. They have a wonderful house and made sure we knew how to use everything. It is also in a great location with nearby places to eat and shop and very close to the many wonderful things to do in New Mexico. It was a great experience and we would love to take care of Fiona, Maggie and Ernie again sometime in the future!!
It was a pleasure staying in this beautiful home. The cats were no issues at all and enjoyed their cuddles with the exception of one! Michael kept communication lines open ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. Due to the location of the house I was able to visit tourist attractions which made my stay even more pleasurable. Highly recommended.
Gigi & Kolly we’re absolute sweethearts. I housesat during 4th of July, the poor pups were frightened with fireworks but would snuggle up to me for reassurance. I didn’t have a car which was totally fine, with Whole Foods & a gym in the building I had all my needs met during the week. Stephanie was a great communicator & we had a tour of her place & chatted about pup needs beforehand.
