I ended up canceling this trip but didn't cancel the "sit" in time unfortunately. But I still wanted give Delna a review, otherwise I think this leaves an unfair negative impression. Because I did have a chance to meet Delna and Vince at my house, and they seemed like really nice people -- polite, attentive, respectful. I'm sure they would have taken great care of my house and my kitty. I will definitely invite them back when I reschedule my getaway. I don't think I can leave a review without marking the stars. So full disclosure, I'm just going to give them all 5's as I feel confident this is what I would have done had they actually been able to do this sit. So far, we've not been able to reach customer service to have them remove this sit from their profile, so this is the best way I can think to handle this.
We were very pleased to have Stephanie taking care of our cat, Smokey. Stephanie is the ideal woman to have in your home, quiet and respectful of your home and property. We told her that we would be arriving very late and that it was okay if she was asleep. We arrived home and she greeted us offering to help carry in the luggage. My pillow was calling and we just went to sleep. The next day she helped us unload the car and do several things to get us settled in at home. When we travel again, we hope she will available to take care of our cat.
Fabrice was an absolutely fantastic caretaker for both my dog and my house. Two days after my return home, my mini-poodle Clancy is still in mourning that he's not here any more. He keeps sniffing at the door of Fabrice's room, and looking puzzled and sad. Even during this crazy, difficult time of the corona virus onset, Fabrice sent regular pictures, walked Clancy twice a day (social distancing, of course), and played with him in between walks. Our house was spotless on return, but even more than that, Fabrice was on a group email about having friends shop for my daughter and me before our return (we are currently self-quarantining after our travels). I whined about the absence of a particular brand of ice cream--and came home to find the freezer full of pints of it. He refused payment for the ice cream, and also for his uber to the airport (I had promised to drive him, but was exhausted from the grueling trip home and worried that if I had been exposed, I might infect him if we drove together--I really wanted to pay for his uber, and he wouldn't let me.) In short, he was responsible, competent, generous, thoughtful, playful with Clancy, and just plain wonderful. THANK YOU, FABRICE! Hope you can come again someday when we can all travel again!
