Cuidar a Shiva fue uno de los desafios mas lindos que hemos tenido!! Shiva es de las gatitas mas hermosas y con el caracter mas fuerte también! Nosotros somos MUY intensos con los animales, queremos estarles encima, acariciarlos, alzarlos, jugar. Pero con Shiva la dinámica es diferente, es necesario ajustarse a sus tiempos y poco a poco se va acercando. Los primeros dÃas es muy importante darle su espacio, no atosigarla y dejar que se acostumbre a la nueva presencia en la casa y con el correr de los dÃas ella va a ir acercándose. Un secreto, tiene una adicción muy fuerte a su cepillo para peinar y esa puede ser una vÃa rápida para conseguir su cariño. El dÃa a dÃa y la comunicación con Natalia y Yamil fue super bueno y estuvieron siempre pendientes por si necesitabamos algo o para darnos tips de lo que podÃamos hacer con Shiva. Además, el piso está super bien ubicado y con muy buenos accesos al transporte público. Mención especial y medalla al nivel de limpieza y orden que tienen los chicos en el piso. Nuestro mayor sufrimiento pasó mas por lograr mantener el nivel de orden y limpieza mas que el del cuidado de Shiva :)
Loved everything about this housesit! Helen and Martin are so lovely, and had all the information I could need or ask for printed and ready for when I arrived. Their home is beautiful and in a picturesque Cotswolds village, with lots of great towns just a short drive away. Now, the stars of the show were Fly and Evie - what gems! Missing them already. Lots of personality and very easy to look after. They know their routine which is great. Socks the cat made a few appearances and although not too cuddly, happily purrs around your feet. Would highly recommend housesitting for Helen and Martin! Loved it.
Temira communicated well and sent the Welcome Guide; ahead of time via email. There was a hard copy available onsite. Her ground-floor condo is rustic, lived-in, & sits in a wooded area. The location offers a view of the gorge. She has a fantastic library of books, including one titled 'Curious Gorge.' I enjoyed the traffic noise (from the interstate) in the living room/kitchen, but some sitters may not. Strava is a indoor cat, who goes outside on a leash and harness. Please note, the harness must be just right or it won't snap closed. Strava is not patient nor willing to assist in this process. She likes attention, but wasn't a lap cat. She was particular about how and when she wanted to be petted. Food-motivated, she was assertive about her meal-times. For some reason she insisted on walking on me between 4 & 6am, meowing and endeavoring to make eye contact. After the 2nd morning, I realized the solution was to feed her. As the days went by, I fed her later in the evenings, but for some reason it didn't make a difference. Everything else was easy – there were a few outdoor plants and the indoor space was simple to clean.
Having read all the excellent previous reviews from past housesitters I applied for this sit with confidence, but at the same time, wondering if everything could be so perfect! Well, it was! The spotlessly clean and comfortable house, the excellent location with access to great transport links and beautiful countryside, the comprehensive welcome pack, the easy communication with Alex and Bill and, of course, the privilege of meeting, caring for and enjoying the company of lovely Tana. Fiercely independent one minute and never leaving your side the next. Always entertaining with her frequent antics in the garden and zoomies around the house. Never demanding, but there to remind you it's dinner time or at bedtime, coming into the sitting room around 10pm, looking disprovingly at the TV, gently nudging your leg and heading out to the kitchen ready for goodnight treats. Then curling up on her white blanket on the dining room chair to sleep. So "perfect" it was described and "perfect" it turned out to be. Thankyou Alex and Bill for inviting me. I would wholeheartedly recommend this sit and wouldn't hesitate to return.
This was a lovely extended house sit- Pip is a bit of a grumpy old man, but would come cozy up to my feet while I worked. Merry is such a sweet and enthusiastic pup who would very much like all of your attention, but does settle down for a couple long naps during the day. He's good for a long walk or an adventure, and is really well behaved on a leash and around other dogs. Abigail was great with communication before and during the stay, and her thorough guide makes everything super easy. Her place is a lovely, comfortable place to stay that had everything I wanted, including a sweet view. And of course right smack in the middle of Ballard, one of my favorite Seattle neighborhoods.
