We were made very welcome and felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The sheep looked after them themselves and we hardly saw the cat, apart from when it came in the house to pinch the dog's food. Eddie was a sweetheart and just wanted to sit with us as we took in the amazing views.
This was a great sit that I highly recommend. Duncan and Eileen were warm and welcoming. Their level of communication was excellent with their home lovely and immaculate. Finn, Sheba and Simba were all sweethearts and lovely companions. My private flat was perfect and this housesit allowed me to take great walks in a gorgeous area of England. The house and yard chores were minimal as they have that handled by others. Ensuring that the home is secure and in order was important. Care of the animals was primary. Finn spent most of his time with me in the flat and the cats have indoor shelter - but spend their time enjoying the beautiful grounds. We have already decided to sit for Duncan and Eileen again. We had a family emergency that required that my spouse remained in the states and I went ahead to the sit on my own. Not only were Duncan and Eileen understanding, they took the time to show me around and introduced me to their friends and family.
Communication before the sit was excellent and included a zoom meeting to discuss the stay and Fynn. Chris and Anne were very welcoming when we arrived. They originally invited us for a meal the night before the sit started but I tested positive with COVID so we arranged a later arrival. Both Chris and Anne were warm, friendly and gave us all the information needed. The house was amazing, comfortable and as described. We made good use of the garden. Fynn was a total sweetheart. We loved taking her for walks and she gave the best cuddles ever. This was our first sit and we felt thrilled we were chosen for this sit. Anyone who sits for Chris and Anne and the adorable Fynn is in for a treat.
My house-sitting experience with Lama was fantastic. Although Lama couldn't leave as planned, she stayed with Bella elsewhere, giving me the house to myself for a few days. This was perfect as I needed a quiet space to focus on job applications and interviews. The house is located in a very peaceful area, yet still easily accessible by public transport, and surrounded by beautiful nature. After five days, Lama and Bella came back to the house. Lama is very knowledgeable, hospitable, lovely and respectful as well as she maintains a clean and organized home. Bella is such a food-driven sweetheart and a joy to be around. Lama made sure I was comfortable walking Bella by accompanying us on two walks before I took Bella out on my own on the last day. Instructions regarding food and walking, as well as the house were extremely clear. Communication was great and easy. I would absolutely recommend this house-sit, and make sure to meet Lama—she's a lovely person!
We loved our sit at Alice's house, and grew to adore Charlie and Poppy! They are playful, easy, and super fun to take care of. They loved playing with all the toys and curling up in their favorite boxes, which kept us laughing. Alice is an incredible host and a clear communicator. Her instructions were straightforward and covered everything. Her house is thoughtful and comfortable, and we loved cooking in her kitchen. The neighborhood and location are incredible too. I couldn't recommend Alice + Charlie and Poppy enough!
