We had the most wonderful week with the spaniels Ruby and Bramble. Ruby the older lady, looking longingly at the malted milks while I sat on the floor with them for morning tea and Bramble equally interested but happy to content herself with licking my ears, in between nipping out to charge around the garden. Fay has put some small barriers in front of the beautifully stocked flower borders but of course she would hop straight over those whenever she felt like it.
It was very hot when we arrived and Paul and Fay urged us to go out during the week to come and enjoy ourselves. This got off to a wonderful start with them taking us out for dinner with some of the neighbours, who later on in the week would invite us for a barbecue, to play snooker and enjoy an evening drink.
We managed to complete a lot of the suggested activities and were pleased that it cooled down enough to take Ruby and Bramble with us. Ruby, now of an advanced age plodded along with us and availed herself of many cuddles, while Bramble was the most well behaved Spaniel I’ve encountered, easily covering 5-10 times the distance we did but rarely out of sight for more than a few seconds.
Ross-on-Wye is a really lovely town and has many attractions close by. We would love to visit again. Gillian and Robert x

ROBIN
I absolutely loved my experience in Ann Arbor. I had the most incredible time. The house was so beautiful and peaceful, I felt safe & at home. The comunication with Robin was really easy and good. I really like Robin & Tim as well as the pups. They have really sweet adventurous personalities, they dogs are best friends which is so cute, and they also were a little mischievous at times. I worked from the table downstairs and the dogs just hung out with me. I loved my time and the wifi was great, I felt like it was the perfect trip! I highly reccomend this to anyone. 😊

This was a really enjoyable house sit for us. The home is very comfortable and in a lovely rural area that is an easy 20-minute drive to Santa Fe. The home has a terrific Thermidor gas range and an extensive collection of movies and books. Internet service is reasonably good, just a bit slow sometimes, but certainly good for keeping up with things. The satellite TV provides a lot of channels; everything you could want. The bed in the guest bedroom is OK but a bit small for people used to a king bed. The house is fairly new so everything works well, is in good shape and is easy to care for.

Freyja is a great dog, well-behaved and easy to care for. She is good on the leash and fairly obedient when off-leash. She is in good health and in her prime, so she needs long walks every day (an hour or two for the morning walk and half an hour later in the day, plus some play time in the yard, seemed adequate). She is the type of dog who has a lot of stamina and she needs that exercise to be content. Just letting her run around in the fenced yard is definitely not enough exercise for her. Fortunately there are two good trails just near the house that you can drive to in a few minutes (uphill). The en Medio trail is noted in Megan's trail guide booklet as one of the author's favorites in the Santa Fe area. We agree that it is a splendid trail. In order to give Freyja the exercise she needs, you have to be willing to have a dog in your car to drive to the trail heads. She got in willingly and stayed in the back of our SUV (no jumping over the seats).

Nina Rumi, the young cat, is adorable. She is very affectionate and will sleep on your bed and sit on your lap. We ensured she did not get outdoors as we didn't want her predated and we weren't sure if we would get her back
inside. She was no trouble at all, but be prepared for a cat that is constantly with you whatever you are doing in the house.

We found out from Megan that there is an excellent Mexican restaurant nearby called Gabriel's. It is about a 10-minute drive and is one of the best we've visited. Try it early in your sit because you will want to return.

This sit will suit people who like being in the country with no immediate neighbors and no shops or services in the vicinity. It is very peaceful and the stars are incredible because there is no ambient light. We will remember this lovely spot and would gladly return.

Cats were easy to look after they soon had me trained ! They both liked attention and cuddles and had them cuddled next to me on the sofa and on the bed from the first day. They showed me in the mornings where their food was and where the door was, and they appeared at the windows when they wanted back in so easy to understand ! Stan showed me where everything was and explained how things work. House is in a nice location, handy for the shops, chippy, pub and bus to Aberdeen if you don't have a car to explore the area.

Kate
A wonderful stay in a beautiful part of Scotland with Kates’ girls. We had a wonderful welcoming meal and walk in the rolling hills behind Kate’s very comfortable, very relaxing home with lots of logs to keep us all cosy. Our Mini Schnauzer Dexter was welcomed into the fold and had fabulous playtimes with Missie. Communication throughout our stay was fabulous with Kate being available for any updates we might need. The girls and Dexter enjoyed multiple hours of off-lead adventures resulting in very contented pups at day’s end. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the company of Bodie (who loved belly rubs) and Missie (who loved her toys and free running time accumulating numerous more miles than us on every walk). We look forward to keeping in touch with Kate and her girls.

Robin
Robin is literally once of the most sweetest and caring individuals I have ever met. She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed to look after the wonderful Ottis and Gizmo.

It's a great neighbourhood with everything you need - shops, restaurants, pharmacies, great neighbours!

Will definitely return if wanted.
